World of Outlaws 2018

I was at the Jackson, Knoxville, and 34 Raceway All star shows. All were excellent races. I also watched the WoO feature from Weedsport. Wow, what a skating rink. We're in Knoxville now through the 410 Nationals. Awesome news that Tony's racing Oskaloosa on both nights and Kyle and Kasey are racing Monday's Front Row Challenge!

Very nice. I haven't been to the Nationals in more than a decade, wish I had the time and means to go again.

We rushed back to the camper in Knoxville after the 360 Again to watch on Dirtvision. Rico and his team needed that win so incredibly badly. They have been struggling since 1) his Eldora crash last year. 2) his split with Paul Silva. They spent Tuesday on a chassis dyno in Indianapolis and found some things that they fixed. It was readily apparent last night. I hope they can carry that momentum thru tonight. And Speedweeks at Knoxville. Side note: Carson Macedo won last night's feature at Knoxville. He is the driver of the Jason Johnson 41. Incredibly popular win last night and definitely needed to jump start them!

Rico flew in a friend of mine from South Carolina to work with him and his team thru Knoville 410 Nationals. We picked him up in Sioux Falls before the Jackson All Star show. He's been with him since but will be staying with is at Kamp starting Sunday. Drew Warner is Rico's crew chief. Drew is Ricky Warners son, who is the crew chief for Donny Schatz. This was his first Outlaw win. Hopefully there's more to come next week.

I've been to Knoxville a couple of times, but it wasn't for sprints, but flat trackers. Awesome track.

Osky's a cool track. I went there the first couple years they were doing the big non-wing $30k to win race the night before the Nationals began. Seemed to be a slightly bigger half-mile than a lot of the tracks that get called a half-mile.

I was in the trailer the night Tmac handed Kyle 30K cash when he ran the Hoffman car. Biggest payday of his life at the time. ( and a large envelope) :)

I’m on the ground in Iowa and really freaking excited about it. Knoxville Nationals start tonight!

********************
This is one place, along with Eldora, I would LOVE to see.

It will be interesting to see what Jeff has to say about Knoxville throughout the next 4 days. The racing has its own storyline. How Tony, Kasey,Kyle,Ricky,Danica,Clint ,Jeff can just hang out amongst the fans and just be another race fan amazes me. I hope it stays that way. Last I heard there were still 4 spots available to race Tony and Kyle on Thursday at Slideways karting center for charity.

Gluck is a newb, it's ok, all of the fast guys start in the back with the Nationals format. That's why the heat races on qualifying nights are such a show.

I'm glad he is exposing himself to this type of racing this year though.

In all honesty. Kyle's heat was the easiest of the night fwiw. But. He's still fast

3 Ausies in the top 16. The Madsen's and Walsh. Somebody missing in the 16 list is Sheldon Haudenschild in the 17 car. He will make the big dance I'm positive of it.

There's a vast difference between how these upper level racers get treated at a dirt track venue as compared to a Nascar venue. We leave them alone, for the most part. That's why you see them out in the public more. That's why they can go across the street a d enjoy their favorite beverage. That's why you can see them out playing at 4am, possibly playing beer pong with a group of casual sprint car fans. I do not want that to change nor do I want to stand for a race. :)

As much as I like having Jeff Gluck experience Knoxville and get his perspective. I do not want to change the face of the Knoxville Nationals
