No one's catching ole' Richard. Not in our lifetime, anyways. Which, by the way, ends Oct. 21st - or until further notice.:idunno:

Kurt Busch has 22 'Cup wins? I'd never've guessed that.

Thats what I thought too but then again he was pretty hot when he was with Roush. He's really stayed out of the spotlight since then.

Remember when people were forecasting Jeff Gordon's numbers during his hot streak? Well, he's in some lofty company now that found the going got pretty tough around those numbers. Not saying Busch isn't going to top some of those numbers, but time does have a way of taking a toll.

To put things in perspective, the only reason Petty won twice as many races as 2nd place David Pearson was because he entered more than twice as many races as did Pearson.
For all-time winning percentage (for drivers with over 100 starts) Petty is actually 4th:

Overall all-time winning percentage: [drivers with over 100 starts]:
1. Herb Thomas -- 21.053% (48 wins, 228 starts)
2. Tim Flock -- 20.856% (39/187)
3. David Pearson -- 18.293% (105/574)
4. Richard Petty -- 16.892% (200/1184)
5. Fred Lorenzen -- 16.456% (26/158)
6. Fireball Roberts -- 16.019% (33/206)
7. Jimmie Johnson -- 15.929% (54/339)
8. Junior Johnson -- 15.974% (50/313)
9. Cale Yarborough -- 14.821% (83/560)
? Jeff Gordon -- 13.196% (83/629)
(stats from Racing-reference.info and NASCAR Statistics) (5-29-2011)

Kurt Busch has 22 'Cup wins & a Cup Championship!!! & Kurt Dominated the Kansas race Sunday!! Kez Won it though!! Dodge!!!

True. I think he also won approx. 30 races in one year alone. I think. Cup runs, what, 36 races a year?

Still, it's one of those untouchable records like Wilt's 100 point game or Joe Dimaggio's hitting streak. They all occurred in diffferent eras, but are still the bar to beat, nonetheless.

Probably overdue....

Also, the fact that he was running basically a small block 400 in a series that allowed a max of 357ish.

Someone younger and better always comes along. For Richard, it was Jaws. For Jaws, it was Dale. For Dale, it was Gordon. For Gordon, it was Jimmie.

I'm not convinced Kyle can do anything with Jimmie though. Jimmie shows maturity and when he's having a rough race, he gives constructive feedback on how to make the car better.

I've listened to Kyle's scanner and when his car's bad, he doesn't really offer anything, just "this car sucks" and "y'all suck" and "y'all can't do anything right" and the like... that's the difference between Kyle and Jimmie and why Jimmie has five championships.

I understand drivers getting mad about stuff on the track, but getting mad over a clean pass in a minor league race?

Can you back any of these statements up? Because I doubt that to many crews would put up with being degraded like that. You win as a team, and you lose as a team. If a driver talked about their crew like that in nhra, then he might find himself locked in the out house for a while.

Why do you think Steve Addington left Gibbs?

Why do you think Hamlin lost the championship?

tell Chad that:p

What I find interesting here is that Andy is bad mouthing Kyle's radio manner (which is exaggerated) and yet, Harvick, his favorite this week, as documented by Fox, ESPN, etc on numerous occasions (weekly?) has been REAL nasty with his crew members.

Pull up the scanner on NASCAR.com and listen to the difference.

Harvick will say things like "The car is so ****ing tight in the corner, I can't drive it" when he's running 25th. Harvick complains about 25 second pit stops that cost him 10-15 positions on pit road -- and Harv's feedback on handling has turned 25th place runs in to top-ten finishes.

Kyle will just go on and say "this car's junk" without telling the team if it's loose or tight. "This car's junk" does not tell the crew how to fix the problem. Kyle complains about 13 second pit stops and losing one position on pit road. Hell, there have been races where he's been leading by 5 seconds and dominating the race and he's still telling his pit crew how much they suck and how they can't build cars worth a damn.

There's a reason Harvick scored the most points, most top-ten finishes and best average finish last season.

You are so full of **** that it's not even funny. You can take any two drivers out there and compare them the same way, every driver has good days and bad days. I've heard Jeff Gordon go absolutely bonkers many times and David Regan be helpful with input about his car. Does that mean Gordon's a jerk and Regan is the level headed guy? This is typical of Andy hearing what he wants to hear, retaining certain facts and instances to spew out at everyone and twisting facts around because he's such a Kyle hater. I've heard both sides of Kyle and Harvick and every single driver I have tuned into before, they all have shown both sides. For Gods sakes Harvick has fired his entire crew before over the radio.

just knock it off and stop beating a dead horse for crying out loud, we get it, you don't like Kyle this month.

Harvick fired his entire crew because of repeated 20+ second pit stops.

Whatever dude, I listed to Kyle's radio almost every week and I don't recall him *****ing about loosing 1 position on pit road. And he mostly tells the crew what he needs. Yes, I have heard him (mostly last year) say that car is junk without telling them why. This is FAR from the norm as you are proposing here though. Standard journalism.

Harvick fired his entire crew because of repeated 20+ second pit stops.

So what is the difference between Harvick *****ing about a bunch of substandard pit stops or Kyle *****ing about a bunch of substandard setups in his car?

Well, the common denominator is Andy. So that would be the difference.

I think someone said that Harvick tempers his anger with constructive criticism where Bush has nothing helpful to add to his complaints.

One driver flips out after three 25 second pit stops. Another driver flips out over 13.2 second pit stops.

Kyle and Denny's crews are the fastest every week, yet those are the drivers that throw their crew under the bus the most.

If you say so. :flushed:

What are people going to be saying when kyle has more wins then Dale Sr.?
Who wants to bet that he will be driving the 31 in a few years? :D

Kyle will have more Cup wins than the late Dale Sr. He's already on a pace to achieve that. As far as driving the 31, I don't expect Kyle would piss on the 31 if it were ablaze.
