Get Dale up in the booth SMH. He has way too much knowledge and insight to be wasted on pit road, even if it’s only for stage 1.

This is better than pack racing. Much better.

But this track is too narrow, too high banked, and too unforgiving.

Yeah, NBC, I wouldn't count a city that lost two NHL teams and who's football team managed to somehow blow a 25 point lead in the Super Bowl as "a city full of sports successes"
 
If I'm going to make it through tomorrow's race, I'll have to sacrifice the rest of this one. Y'all have fun, I'll see you tomorrow.
 
I think the Childress cars have found a way to have less drag in their transmissions. They had two that had to be replaced...maybe torn down and checked? And here they are from the back faster than the pack and running up front. Hmm.

I got flashbacks to Mark Martin in the Viagra car, though I guess this sponsorship would somehow be even more awkward for the driver.
 
Oh, my goodness. Sieg's car is toast. Really no one to blame for that. Just too many cars in one spot and a wounded car in front of them.

Now it's starting to look like a super speedway race, bent up, bear bond flapping warriors with nothing to lose going for it.
