Xfinity RACE thread --- Daytona

Your next 5 minute rule caution is about to frisbee a hood into the stands

Evidence, please.

Are they not being cause by damaged cars?

Hell I just heard Harvick said it was because of fenders rubbing the tires. If he says so I trust him since you know..he knows a few things about cars and racing.

Then explain the accidents caused by undamaged cars in the first stage. Damaged doesn't equal liable.

Harvick's a driver, not a crew chief, and he hasn't had a look at original damage or the resulting repairs.

Really enjoying watching the race on NASCAR Drive ,no constant shrill of commentators yapping endlessly.

Exactly. He probably knows more about race cars than the posters here.

The issue is whether or not such things happened in the past or is attributable to the 5 minute rule.

This has just been stupid. Thanks, NBC!! This stage racing may work on the intermediate tracks but not on the speedways or road courses.

That's not the 5-minute rule. That's the one about not being able to replace body parts. A handful of pop rivets would prevent that ASAP.

EDIT: the more I think about it, the more I wonder if THAT'S the rule y'all should be questioning.

Saying "we have a great finish coming up" with 40 to go at Daytona is premature.

If there's this many cars left with 2 or 3 laps to go there's going to be another big one. There's too many cars who are compromised aerodynamically to survive a lot of bobbing and weaving.

Is it just me or are these cars kind of stalling on the straights? They dont pull as much as when they're on a corner.

From what I can see being out front means literally nothing right now. No ability to fend anyone off...
