Colby Howard is the grandson of the late Buddy Howard. Buddy was a four time champion at Greenville Pickens Speedway 1977-1980. Buddy passed more than a year ago, I can't believe I missed it and only recently discovered he had passed.
The competition was fierce back in those days. The best cars ran a Mike Laughlin or Ronnie Hopkins chassis like Buddy ran in the #29 Mustang.

Buddy would be proud of Colby.

It's inevitably gonna happen but I always hope it happens with more than 10 to go. Superspeedway races end in GWC's too often.
