Xfinity RACE thread --- Rockingham

I'm pretty surprised at his response. Don't think he's cured his dehydration issue.
When he was on with Dale Jr he said his health is much better.

I'm glad he wants to though, that car was coming to the front before he hit Legge.

Betch'a Parker Retzlaff wishes he would have given Sammy a tap between 3 and 4... he ran up to Smith, and Smith covered the bottom. Instead of giving him a love tap, Parker swung high. He should have moved him... it would have been Parker's first win.

Trying to accomplish this on a smaller scale with the rear end.

Just got through watching the race highlights, that was
a classic Rockingham race. The Rock may come back to
life after all. Lets go Cup!

Even a smidgen of flex will allow for more torque flex, which helps the transition of power to the ground. It is the reason a fifth coil system with mono leafs or even coils is so much more effective on dirt tracks.

Kasey ends up 15th
Super-bummed for him that he got caught up in that wreck. Had a fast car and easily would have been a top 5 and likely competing for the win. Sure hope he decides to do more races. Pretty amazing that he was able to come back and show speed like that after 7 years away. Was there ever an update on how he felt after the race? I know there was talk of him being hot in the car which was really concerning considering how he went out 7 years ago.

This was really fun to watch. Too many cautions but can't complain about the racing we did see on the longer green runs. I liked that they could race side by side and you could see them sliding around. Good stuff and I'd love to see Cup back here.

"The computer says we're good"
Runs out in that exact moment.
This is the point of the lap 242 red flag, when I got up and left. I wanted to make it to I-74 before it got dark, and I figured that red flag wouldn't be the last one. I had some chores yesterday and today and just saw the final laps. I expected Love would cross the line first (notice how I phrased that?) although I didn't expect him to have lost the lead between the red flags. Smith drove like maybe Jr. had a conversation with him, so I'm not unhappy with his win.

No doubt someone else will run out on the next restart
And sure enough, someone did!
No chance the 54 and the 8 make it back to the checker
This one didn't age well. :p
I'll have to say the difference between MRN and this race thread says a lot. LOL
Sure wish my TV service would carry CW.
The CW post-race continues to be great, with multiple interviews. Even though this race ran long, they still fit in the top three and more.

Other than the Stage 3 shenanigans, this was a darn good weekend! I was quite surprised that a higher groove came in; I remembered the bottom line as being the dominant one. They were able to run three-wide through the turns on fresh rubber, something that used to be the kiss of death. The Trucks put on a good show. Cruise dominated the ARCA wreckfest but that was what I expected. Xfinity race offered two great first two stages before they all turned their brains off at the second break.

So many memories came back! Climbing the hills to the grandstands, then walking along the walkway between them and the tower. Looking at the surrounding landscape, including the sand pit across from the back and the traffic coming in on US-1. I wound up among a crowd of race fans that were even more friendly and knowledgeable than usual, some of who had been there for the 2004 last Cup and 2013 last Xfinity races.

From a racing standpoint, I didn't see anything that would prevent a Cup race. Off the track, I did see a couple of things they'll need to spend money on if they want one. I wasn't in them but I suspect the garages will need a lot of work, especially the second-tier ones used by the supporting series. The danged old scoreboard between 3 and 4 didn't work at all, but it was never worth a hoot back in the day anyway. Fortunately, MRN did it's usual decent job of keeping me updated. Back in the day we didn't have the Internet and even though the reception was weak and intermittent (@kkfan91 did you have the same issues?), it was enough to keep me in the loop. They need to update the PA system, including putting speaker back in the Turn 1 grandstands. Parking control was weak to non-existent; Friday I basically entered, parked, and exited wherever I wanted. Saturday was a bit better but I was still able to get out to my advantage, despite what routes and exits the track had published on their maps.

When does my renewal application arrive???

I actually had better service for my phone than I do at Dover
