Xfinity RACE thread --- Watkins Glen

The coming 4 week stretch including today of Watkins Glen, Mid Ohio, Bristol, and Road America is my favorite stretch of the season for this series.
Mid America and Road America aren't as forgiving as the Glenn. I don't know if they put them in that order because of that to give the drivers a warm up or not, but it's good they do.

Truly excellent race today.

I'm bummed for Dinger and hope he keeps racing in NASCAR road course events. But I am very glad NASCAR is doing proper disqualifications now for such infractions, and no longer making it up as they go with points penalties.

Eh, the post race inspections are kinda sketch IMO. These cars are being pushed to the edge in extreme conditions while beating and banging against cars and the track itself. Parts shift around all race long and can break. If the car passes the extensive pre-race inspections then that car is legal. Kicking a team in the mouth over a post race infraction, that in many cases, was not intended by the team is uber shaky.

Imagine the forces these heavy cars endure on a road course. Sometimes they aren’t going to agree with the laser tolerances required to pass a post-race inspection.
Did the 18 pass post-race?
Good run AJ.

If you are gonna go that route then I'll have my car on the dirt when the race is over. Rules are rules. If it was due to a part failure they will take that into consideration.

All cars dont go thru post race

How many times have we gone over the reasons both pre-race and post-race tech are necessary? Creative minds know how to make parts 'fail' in desirable directions. If anything post-race is the more essential inspection.

Another killer Xfinity race - man, the series has been so good this year.

Cindric’s second pass on AJ (the one after the exchange of bump-n-runs) was impressive. Squeaky clean, just beat him through the inside of the corner, and then drove away. Those tires worked out big time.

Nobody hopes or plans an upper ball joint failure :)

It was looking so good for some when we thought it was going to be Gibbs getting punished and it wound up being Kaulig and Niece.

NASCAR fans play themselves yet again.

Late to the party here but I watched the last half of the Xfinity race this morning and that was some great racing. The Glen almost always delivers.
