Can anyone explain a bit to how fantasy nascar works. Looks like I get 8 roster spots, do I pick drivers for the whole season or on a race by race basis?

Ideally you want to reseve the 9 best for were you expect them to finsh best. You only can start a driver 9 times during the entire season.
It is a game of managing resources.

Example: Group C Save your best rookies and pick someone like a Micheal Waltrip, Regan Smith, or David Ragan for Daytona. Good drivers at that track, but ones you will probably not use 9 times during the season.

Near the end of the season you want to have a lot of reserves, while still fully utilizing the best 3 or 4 in each group by the time they finish at Homestead.

Managing your resources while fully utilizing the best performers is paramount.

Thanks, this helps a lot. Pretty much like playing on Draft Kings just with the 9 race restriction. Should be interesting.

Don't start Tony Stewart before Memorial Day. ;)

Race by race.

Your best bet is probably to review the how-to-play page. It can be found here => https://help.yahoo.com/kb/fantasy-auto-racing#

I can answer any specific questions that you have. I just don't want to try and rewrite their help files. :D

The defending 2016 Yahoo Fantasy Racing-Forums champion, y'alls truly, has signed up for the 2017 season.

@PeopleAreStrange is the man to beat this year, great job all season and really strong down the stretch, over 10,000 points in 2016.
He's back still young and probably getting stronger(younger than Lagano).
If you want a real challenge sign up and try to beat him, it will not be easy.

@Rick will also be tough the 2015 champ, and a third last year.

We even have a Nascar insider here @Allenbaba that's probably filling the Enquiring Cup drivers minds on the latest RF YFL highlights, rumors and power struggles

So if you have never played and want a real challenge or still seeking the glory and fame, you will find it here against this games competition.

2016 first loser checking in...team name is Three Time

2017 Champ

You had a great year, most wins plus great overall results, glad you are back, great competition is a good thing.

I'm in as usual. I got skunked last year but watch your six this year.

Hope you rebound too, lots of strong RF YFL seasons and other RF league championships. I always like seeing you near the top of the list.

They still have Carl Edwards listed in the "A" list. And 2% have him picked. :D

Kind of surprised they didnt C class him like Jeff Gordon last year, in the event that he subbed for someone this year.

But glad they didnt, JG 2016 was a lifeline for some that used up their resources to early, gave them a 2nd chance imo.

When Jeff Gordon returned, I started him whenever I could. It would've been dumb to not take advantage of having such a great driver in the C group.

That said, there was a race where Chase Elliott (who I had benched) finished a few positions better than Jeff.

Terry Labonte's Mustache is back for more abuse.

Hoping @klemmabyna plays this year.
Klemm gets better every year and enjoyed being the overall leader deep into the 2016 season.
He saved reserves to finish strong, and had a real shot at the championship late in the season.

Austin Dillion gave him 2 or 3 DNFs in the playoffs or chase, and that pretty much ended his chances. Looking forward to see how it goes in 2017 for him.

The Jeff Gordon mirage will be replaced by a driver to be named later....
