2014 Chicagoland - MyAFibStory.com 400 - Pre Race Thread

Looking at these locations, some of them make no sense.

Why is Joey in Talladega and not New Hampshire? He's the only full time driver from New England, he should be THERE promoting the series. I also would've sent Keselowski to Chicago for a similar reason, he's from a nearby state.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. should be in Charlotte too but I can see why they want him in a larger market.

You should be in the front office of Nascar makin those decisions. :)

There are also a ton of Polish people in Chicago so sending him there would make a lot of sense.

Yeah, these locations make almost no sense.

Jeff Gordon should also be in Los Angeles but I can see why you might send him to Toronto (major international market and he's a known commodity). NASCAR should've sent their drivers to their home market when possible. Carl Edwards should be in Kansas instead of Mexico City.

Here's how I would've done it:

Los Angeles - Jeff Gordon
Mexico City - Aric Almirola
San Antonio - Kurt Busch
Toronto - Kasey Kahne
New York City - Jimmie Johnson
ESPN - Kevin Harvick
Chicago - Brad Keselowski
New Hampshire - Joey Logano
Dover - Greg Biffle
Kansas - Carl Edwards
Charlotte - Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Talladega - Ryan Newman
Martinsville - Denny Hamlin
Texas - Matt Kenseth
Phoenix - Kyle Busch
Homestead-Miami - AJ Allmendinger

I tried my best to match drivers with their home areas or with areas that would be useful to them and NASCAR. Almirola is of Hispanic descent so he should be sent to Mexico. Some drivers were just placed because there was nowhere else for them or for arbitrary reasons. For example, I put Newman at Talladega because of RCR's past there.

I like this one better. ;)

I'd send Johnson to California since he was born there and Gordon to NYC since he and his wife have an apartment there.

Kez and Gano will be running brand new chassis at Chicagoland, so when you see those two Fords running one two and pulling away you will know what the deal is.:blush:

Special paint schemes and stickers for the drivers taking part in the Chase. Now they've added special flags above their pit boxes.

Dale Earnhardt is looking down, shaking his head and laughing his ass off. In my opinion. :D

@jeff_gluck

Jimmie Johnson on what the rounds are called in the Chase: "Forgive me for not knowing all the catchy names."

@jim_utter

Is it Hendrick vs. Penske right now? JJ: "I guess I would see that as true right now."

@JennaFryer

Darian Grubb said he took 2 days off the last 6 weeks. Worked 12-14 hours a day, "and I'm still behind."
