Labbe Moving to R&D, Alexander to Crew Chief

Richard Childress Racing has named Slugger Labbe to a leading role in their research and development efforts, which will be effective following the NASCAR race weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway later this month. Justin Alexander, currently a race engineer on the No. 27 Menards Chevrolet team, will take over the crew chief role with Paul Menard as the driver.

Some old school Daytona Beach racing from 1958. #3 Paul Goldsmith went on to win the race. Curtis Turner, Jack Smith & Joe Weatherly rounded out the top 4. The only 4 to finish on the lead lap out of a field of 49 cars. Paul lead all 39 laps winning by 5 car lengths. The sponsor of Paul's car was Smokey's Best Damn Garage. Ironically, like the 2014 Daytona 500, 39,000 fans attended the race to witness Mark Martin finish three laps down in 14th. Okay, maybe not. Just checking to see if you're reading.

so that's how you stop Johnson, leave no openings for him on pit-road.

With 10 of the 29 pit stalls having a clear advantage of open in or out.I would think it really doesn't matter what pit stall you pick.But you are right Jimmie seems to only win when you leave him a opening.

I don't think JJ will have an opening this week.

So next year we have a points system based on pit stall selections instead of wins.

Hey, he won in that car. & the other 3 wins came in the Axalta scheme. If I remember right.

Has he won with the DTEH scheme yet this year?
I don't care. That hard to follow pumpkin car is gone.

@bobpockrass

Thru August, ISC 2014 ticket revenue up tick from $91.9M to $92.02M (incl IndyCar race at Cali that was in Oct last yr).

I received my Dale Jr shirt I won from scanning a bar code in the grocery store.
The first thing I did after putting it on is spill candle wax on it. Awesome!
