#24 Team Being Investigated For Tape Gate

If the tape was there during the tech. inspection, I 'd think we are good.
Its the same paint color so I wouldn't think it was a last minute addition.
Maybe there is a picture of it pre tech.

Wicker bill tape ? 40#'s of df, lol.

"It's just car wrap peeling off lol you guys"
Is it a real cucumber in this case.

Well crap. Maybe this will pi$$ Chase off and lite a timely inner wild fire.

Dude cheated and still got waxed. Give the trophy to the 78 already.....

I can't think of the last time someone was this dominant, at least in Cup. Keselowski was right to a point, I'm surprised NASCAR has let this continue. I love stage racing and had fun the first part of the season, but the Truex Show isn't interesting to me anymore.

Typical NASCAR, penalize somebody with ZERO explanation to the public as to the EXACT nature of the violation and the supposed advantage given. On any penalty such as this, it should be announced from the technical center live on video with a representation of the violation. One of the MANY reasons people don't trust NASCAR.

When have they ever done that?

There's nothing special about these guys ... they found a little gizmo, used it and got pinched. On to Loudon.

What do you recommend NASCAR do to ensure that this doesn't "continue"?

:D:p:rolleyes:

The 78 was .3 faster than anyone the entire race. It's kind of disturbing.

Toyotas clearly have an advantage, they travel through the corner 10x better than anyone. A trip to the wind tunnel(which they have not tried) to determine if these cars have an unfair aero advantage would be a start..

Now that I'm home and I can see these photos and video, what a joke. I can't believe anyone wasted five seconds of their time to put this conspiracy together. :bsflag:I looks to me like a piece of the NASCAR MANDATED (and probably supplied) green tape that they had all of the Chase teams put on their spoilers and air dams started to come off during the race. It looks like the crew member was trying to stick it back down, if anything. Trust me, this is much ado about nothing.

;) Much ado about something it appears, judging by the L1 penalty they just got spanked with!

Not harsh enough.

NASCAR is continuing the presedence that cheating won't get you banned for a couple of races which would be the right thing to do. So drivers will continue to cheat and suffer minor fines.
Implementing that all of the sudden for a piece of tape when you've let others slide for more serious offenses to this point would be seriously stupid. I can see them putting that into affect next season but good luck getting that in place these last 9 races.

Where would YOU like YOUR cucumber? Lets make a cucumber trophy.

There were aparently a few things. Some official details would be helpful.

That's true.

NASCAR needs to put their big boys pants on and stop all this nonsense. It's their fault this is happening.

Too many inconsistencies in the way they hand out penalties.

Although seriously, #24 being slapped the fine for an extra slice of tape while the #2 has transforming side panels and getting 0 attention is beyond ******.

Gordon and Harvick 2014 probs. Usually ran 1-2 most of the race for a majority of the season.

If I was them I would appeal this to allow Alan to be on the box at Loudon. It's one of Chase's worst tracks, doesn't even have a top 10 there. Kenny Francis was his CC in year 2 of Xfin, but I worry. He needs to get back a little of that point cushion before going to Dover imo. He runs very well there and can maintain without AG to advance through.

Where is the penalty thread for the 78 car ? I wuz gonna start one but can't seem to find out what he got nailed for :idunno:

This whole deal seems like a hoax

Nope

If it was Toyota caught red handed like this people would be losing their minds.

You haven't heard what they found about the 78 car yet ?

Pit Greg Ives on his box and give jr a new crew chief this weekend

At least the toyodas can win a race with cucuber laced cars. Its a shame to come up short when you have an "unfair advantage.";)
