Matt Kenseth

I’m sure Kenseth can detect how far off certain things are with their program when he gets out on the track but will it be able to help the team really turn anything around?... if I’m a betting man I’d say not. But hopefully he can focus their program towards a couple starting points.

If Kenseth never left then the program might have maintained decent traction even if they slowed down. Enough to not loose their way entirely.
He brings information ... Gibbs / TRD processes and procedures and other things that are stored in his head.

Do you really think Kenseth is going to duplicate Trevor Bayne's stats?

Possible. We all know Kenseth is better. But what if he literally starts that thing 31st and then finishes it 27th... if you’re Trevor... what’s your story going to be going forward?

The first weekend of Matt's comeback is coming up. Fantastic.

Nothing in this sport is easy, but Jack has the money to run a car full time and he has the resources to have it run upfront.
I don't think Jack is the same guy as the Jack of old. Also Hass puts his name on some cars, Penske has done so and HMS as well. I haven't seen any of Jack's companies sponsor his cars.
I don't blame him because he would be giving his money to his partner.
I would like to see Jack sell out then come back as his own man again.

I'm pretty sure I recall seeing some of Roush's companies on the cars, although I don't remember any details. The #16, maybe?

And I've forgotten a lot of what I didn't miss, and mis-remember a lot of what I saw.

Getting old still beats the only known alternative.

I guess I be the first to ask this just for fun.lol.

If Matt wins a race will he be in the Chase? lol

No. He fails to meet the requirement to run all the races. He missed the first 11 because he didn't have a ride, not because he was injured racing, so he's not likely to get a waiver.

Kyle already made sure of this. He doesn't think anyone should get a bye anymore.:p

On Kyle's, Tony's and Kurt's you had to win a race and be top 30 in points. Anything is possible..it is the era of the chase.

Huh. No Darlington. I'm a bit disappointed.
Darlington is TBA. This announcement is the seven Wyndham-sponsored races that Kenseth will drive... nothing more. Previously, Roush announced Kenseth will drive the next five races, including the All Star and Pocono plus three races also covered by the Wyndham announcement. Also, there was previously announced a 15-race Advocare schedule, which does not include Darlington. The press is assuming that list remains in tact and Bayne will drive all of those (seven done, eight more assumed). All of that leaves nine races not yet revealed, and Darlington is one of those.

TL;DR... I'd make book that Kenseth drives at Darlington, and most of the other un-announced races as well.

No sh!t, I was hoping for the Roval in September to see him run live.
I fear the Roval cluster-funk is gonna make that Indy F-1 race from a few years back look like a classic.

I am going and it will be a lot of fun, wish they would do this at Daytona for the July race. :booya:
There isn't a lot he could do to make it worse, short of putting sand in the engines
Good one. :lol2:

If he actually wins a race in the 6, that alone would be quite an accomplishment.

Welp...

What’s Trevor up to this weekend? Does he have time to get back to Kansas?

Kenseth didn't set the world on fire at practice either. It is going to be interesting. Kenseth had all the cards stacked against him. Rain screwed up their plans for two separate practices and practice time was shortened. They blew getting thru inspection to qualify. So if nothing else they will learn what the car is like in traffic.

Matt Kenseth was a game changer for TRD. He will do the same for Ford if the infrastructure is willing to respond.

He's not the savior most of you think he is.
