Prayers.

Rods inserted into his spine. This is serious. I really want him to be ok. Hes magic in a racecar but getting well is first.

Dammit this sucks so much.

This really does suck. I was really starting to get into Indy more than ever because of Wickens. I finally found somebody to watch on a weekly basis and boom, this happens.

I hope he overcomes.

If he ever races again, it looks like it will be awhile, pretty torn up. Yeah like Reck, Wickens increased my interest in IndyCar. I hope all of the operations are successful and he can race again.

Hope he will be okay.
The reports are a little vague, which increases the concern.

Yeah, exactly. We are conditioned to expect the worst when those reassuring phrases are omitted. Racing... she is a cruel hard mistress.

Tbh, I thought he was speaking already. Glad to hear regardless.

Update on Robert Wickens from @hinchtown: Wickens is “getting better every day” and his first words during hospital visit were, “Sick glove, bro” (talking about compression glove Hinch is wearing after injury). Says everyone hoping Wickens can be transferred to Indy hospital soon

When they mentioned where the spinal damage was I thought that frequently affects ability to breathe. I will really be surprised if he regains any movement in lower extremities. Racing can be cruel.

One of his diagnoses from a report I heard (I don't remember where) is a pulmonary contusion. I am certainly no doctor but based on the description of that diagnosis, that is what has been affecting his ability to breath and hopefully not anything to do with his spine:

God I hope he will be okay, the reports are still very concerning.

Never heard of him before the accident, but damn, its hard not feel bad for him, I hop he is able to recover from his injuries live a normal life.

Won the pole in his very first race this year and damn near won the race if not for being taken out late while leading. Was a legitimate championship contender. Overwhelming potential.

I miss the Wickens/Rossi battles. They certainly gave the race a lot of excitement.

Similar to the one I used in rehab, my feet were strapped to the pedals and the resistance set. The therapist would dial in the speed that I had to maintain.

I think it uses electrodes to stimulate his muscles? At any rate, it's good to see.

Ah ok, I know there's been so much speculation to the extent of his spinal injuries I wasn't sure if that was all him or not.
