SILLY SEASON 2019

If Truex would go to JGR he would have (Stanley company whichever brand they decide to promote) bass pro and probably auto owners....so he would be covered at JGR....at SHR it would obviously be covered by HAAS. Suarez will have Arris in his corner so it's up to him if wants to get "demoted" or become a free agent.

Something that seems really fishy about the whole deal is if jgr is kind of screwing Furniture Row in this deal and Truex is loyal to Furniture Row why would he go to the company that screwed his old company.
There's a good sign, and the Kenseth deal, and the snatching of two of his key pit crew guys at Indy last year. IDK about him, but I sure wouldn't be dancing feet to go with JGR right after the preacher boots another driver and hires him..fun place to work or what?

who says he won't have any sponsors?
well you figure Bass Pro would go with MTJ/Pearn as well as Auto Owners Insurance. You might need one or two more companies to pick up the Tab, but I am not gonna pretend to know anything about how the inner workings of the business work. It just boggles my mind that all we hear is about how Toyota cup support to FRR, okay but where is Chevy? Sleeping behind the wheel? They should be more than happy to pick up that void TRD/JGR is leaving. I would like to see what a FRR team powered by HMS would do.

They were still the best RCR team in 2015.
Yes but JGR/Toyota support took them from being a championship contender to the very best in the sport. There is a gap between best 2015 RCR team and best 2017 team period.

So if he has these sponsors why not stay ?

Ford's financials aren't that great, their stock went into the cellar IDK how Chevy is doing.
Ford's probably pretty happy with SHR and Penske fielding competitive cars, and possibly nursing Roush back to health. Maybe an alliance with SHR but they'll all have their hands full changing to Mustangs.

Yeah I remember wishing they had signed FRR to align with Penske during 2015....for 2016.....this ofcourse was before the SHR announcement. At that time I was 100% expecting Ganassi to be the team that switched.

and possibly nursing Roush back to health. .

Dave Regan, Trevor Bayne, Stenhouse, Dillions....Jack lost his knack for finding and developing new talent and that's what is killing the Roush racing brand. Paying Carl a boatload of cash and letting Matt walk was a huge mistake. He lost half his yearly RFR wins.

If I was Ford and I was cutting my racing budget, Hmmm Penske, SHR or Roush which one would it be. It could happen. Ford has made some changes in their racing department. Roush is going nowhere fast.

RFR should stick to engines and leave cup until they can afford real talent.

This is the third time I've seen 'Hotwheelscupseries' referenced today. I'll admit this is the only site I turn to for NASCAR info. Is this person known to be reliable? Any clue who he / she is or if he is connected to the industry?

https://twitter.com/nascar19fan2015

I'm scrolling through their tweets right now. So far, it looks like he/she just retweets/regurgitates whatever rumors are flying around. Notably, I saw a few retweets regarding the recent "KBM to Cup!" rumor.

When I get back farther in their timeline (they are quite active so that will take some scrolling!) maybe I'll be able to see if they made any predictions that came true. ;)

Oh, this person also appears to be a big Carl Edwards fan...lots of tweets/retweets that somehow concern Carl. And the last few days, not a few years ago when Carl was still racing.

yeah I figured out right quick he was an Edwards whisperer and then he said Nissian was coming to cup and I thought he might be a little touched.

Nissan might make it to cup but I wouldn't expect anything until the gen 7 car....so whatever that is worth. Also people need to give up on Edward's man....he didn't come back for a Hendrick ride and he's not coming back for a SHR ride...he's not coming back.

Why would manufacturers spend big bucks to join a series that has ongoing attendance, TV viewership, and sponsor challenges? Not hating, just stating the facts that we all know.

In contrast to this rumor, I see various manufacturers planning more vehicles that are electric or run on some alternative fuel. How does jumping into NASCAR complement those plans?

Eh. I personally think Ricky is a good driver and doing a good job.

Agree with this.

despite all of he hooplah about plug in cars, they aren't selling. Despite all of the deathbed, Nascar continues to be the number 1 sporting event of the weekend most of the time until football season. Number 1 hands down over all of the televised racing series.
