Chase Elliott

Michigan proved there is still a LOT of work to be done, but at least things are trending upward. Still too many unforced errors too. A couple of clinker pit stops late in the going really hurt Chase's chances at Bristol. There simply isn't enough performance margin right now to be anything less than spot on.

Exactly. If he doesn’t get beaten out of pits by Bowyer there after he led a good chunk, I firmly believe he goes on to win. Getting shuffled back into traffic killed him. The only real chances for win #2 this year are the Roval, Martinsville, and maybe Phoenix. They simply don’t have the intermediate package competitive enough to come anywhere close to the Big 3.

Last year, that team pulled some speed out of their butt in the playoffs that they hadn't showed all year. If that happens again, they COULD be a threat, but I think the odds are even farther against them this year than last. Still, if you can survive a couple rounds on top ten finishes and win one at the right time, you can get your ticket to Homestead punched, and in a one race winner take all scenario, ANYTHING can happen. (See Jimmie Johnson in 2016.

New hat!

My prediction is Chase passes Kyle Busch under green flag racing sometime before 2034. :D

One of the stars of the next 20 years could be someone we don't even see coming. Based on his performance in the BGN Series, who would have expected Jimmie Johnson to have the Cup career he's had?
Chad Knaus. :D

NASCAR needs an all-star type event where there is a race, a pit crew challenge and fun events like burnout competitions in one weekend.
Literally describes All Star Weekend up until 7 or 8 years ago. Now it's just a usually less than stellar race.

It's a breath of fresh air once again having young fun loving innovative drivers in Nascar. It got pretty boring and stale there for awhile.
Too bad this type of camaraderie is barely displayed at the track.

The closest we have is Wallace giving Blaney the devil horns as he goes by

Crazy turnout at the Ollie's opening today in Lakeland! Tickets were handed out at 7:30 so I figured I'd be safe arriving about 45 mins to an hour early - this is NOT a NASCAR town. Showed up at about 6:35 and there were already close to 100 people in line of the 250 total allowed. I was shocked. Myself, my girlfriend, and her 5 year old son were able to get our tix, head over to chic-fil-a for some breakfast, and get in and out for our photos and autographs with no trouble. Really well organized by the store and the number system they used for the tickets. I will post some photos when I get a moment but it was really cool, little guy was super excited to finally meet Chase.

What's funny is we went to an appearance last fall in Charlotte - NASCAR central - and arrived right at the scheduled time and we were 10th in line. Hardly anyone showed up. Guess you never know.

Chase is out here just delivering birthday gifts. Didn't know that Bill's is today, Alan's was the day he won at The Glen.

The only drivers to reach 2 career Cup Series wins at a younger age than Chase Elliott are Richard Petty, Kyle Busch and Joey Logano.
