2018-19 Fall/Winter Weather Thread

Total bust along coastal Rhode Island.Raining now, but flash freezing this afternoon. So much for the massive storm for us. Up North however, that is a different story.

6 AM it's 1°, wind blowing at 10-15 mph creating a wind chill of -14° to -20°

Icey roads everywhere

0.1 degrees this morning. Even the dog doesn't want to go out to pee this morning.

I went out a few minutes ago to shovel the snow off if the back deck. After about 15 minutes I had enough. It's not too windy but it's just enough to cut through layers of clothing. It's currently at 6 degrees now.

I did go plug in the truck a little while ago. I have a switch inside that I can turn on that circuit. It takes about 3 hours to bring the truck up to temp. I'll probably turn the switch on just before going to bed tonight so the truck will fire up easily in the morning. Supposed to hit below zero single digits tonight.

Oh, hell no.

Damn, I love Florida, heat humidity and all. But I keep repeating myself. Old age has crept up and gone on past me I guess.

Forgot to set the alarm, so I'm getting a late start. A foot of fresh fell overnight.:D Day number 37 for me so far this year.:D

Warmed up to 2°, light snow falling with a 11 mph wind the wind chill is -14°
Whoever said it's to cold to snow must be nutz.

Brrrr my ass. I would be sitting "IN" that fancy fireplace of yours. :booya:

It's going to warm up quick today to just below freezing. They're now calling for freezing rain overnight through tomorrow morning. I'd really rather it just be cold than to have that happen. Prolonged freezing rain never produces anything positive.

Did the truck crank okay this morning? Any problems driving through that mess?

Warmed up to 10 degrees. We're having a heat wave!

Fired right up. Ironically, I had to take it into the Ford Garage for a recall on the engine block heater. I just got back. Roads are still slick from the weekend's snow. It's been too cold for the salt to work properly on our PA roads. Today's heat up will change that quick. Already up to 25 degrees.

Bluebird day on the mountain. Still, some fresh powder out there if you know where to look.:D

Yikes! That looks scary

Yikes! That looks scary

Yeah, the bottom air in the vid is scary and has pretty much no room for error or you will be eating rocks. The last time I hit it I rag dolled out of it with some bruised ribs.:lol2: Now I take the chute that's left from it and watch the young rippers hit it when it happens, and it's not often.:lol2: Can't make it to the mountain today, but plan on being there tomorrow to hit some out of bounds terrain that I'm guessing and hoping will be open tomorrow.

I don't have to dodge rocks and trees while water skiing.

52 degrees right now up from single digits just a day or so ago.

Over two inches of rain yesterday. In the past 6 months we've received more than the yearly average rainfall. The ground is saturated and with gusts of 50 mph a lot of trees toppled over.

32 yesterday morning, 61 yesterday afternoon. 36 this morning, supposed to be 62 this afternoon. YoYo weather. Up and down, up and down.
