No doubt, I think Mazda has really fast car. They have to finish these races. They hardly made it through 25% of the race without the engine going koblamo. A lot has been invested into the car, but damn I forgot about the I4 they used compared to V6 and V8 competition in the field.

Stepped away for some late dinner and came back to see the 10 pretty far back. Did Van Der Zande screw up?

Saw that they made a nose change. Not sure why though. But yeah, they're losing almost 2 seconds every few laps right now.

Just about live. It appears Penske is taking over. I'm ok with this.


Also having a blast with the DWR squad. No way Sean is sober.


Edit: just as I said that lmao. Very competitive race. Loving the battle in 3 of 4 categories

Just woke up from nap #1 . 3 of my 4 picks are still on
the lead lap in their classes at about halfway so I am happy with that.

Rain - Pulling into Tampa about now. I would be breaking down camp and loading with in the next
hour or so just to load it dry. Get a poncho ready or a big trash bag. Maybe buy one if they sell them
at the track. Might want to consider watching the last part of the race in the stadium under a over hang.
I think some of the seats high in the middle section have an over hang over them.
Racing gets crazy in the infield in the rain.

Good racing now with the 10 and 7 in DPi for 2nd place in class.
oopsy - 3 corvette may just ran out of gas. That might cost them a few laps.
 
Yup things starting to mix up now. Mistakes have been made on the #3 Corvette. The 55 Mazda might get back on the lead lap!
 
Weather - Looks like light rain hitting the track in the next 30 - 45 minutes.

Rain coming down pretty good. Started at 5. Radar is solid green

0600 and it's 10, 6, 7 on the lead lap, 31 one down, all other DPi at least 5 down.
 
#4 Vette spins into tires outside turn 1, hard on left side. Full course yellow. #6 Acura came in before the yellow.

#55 back in the garage again. Powertrain.

EDIT: #57 must have been a bad stop; came out 9th.

Guy in the flag stand holding a sign that says Safety Car, as if it could be seen in the rain. When are tracks going to install LED displays on flagstands?
 
I say release the hounds ! This weather is what we got for the next several hours.
Please don't caution us to death.
 
Really need the rain to at least lighten up...I'd be fine with light rain all day but they can't run if standing water is pooling up.

If they red this thing though I don't see how they go back green. Need to at least keep the cars circulating or then the track is really screwed.
