NASCAR Scoop: Johnny Sauter returns to ThorSport

YTONA BEACH< FL -- Johnny Sauter hopes to prove you can go home again—and win.

Sources tell RacinBoys.com that Sauter will return to ThorSport Racing for the 2019 NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series season. An announcement is expected early next week.

The 40-year-old Necedah, Wisc., native will once again pilot the No. 13 truck he drove from 2009 to 2012, four of his seven years with the Duke and Rhonda Thorson-owned team. Sauter, the 2016 series champion, finished fourth in the standings last year. He has qualified for the Championship 4 race in the Playoffs each season since the elimination format was introduced in 2016.

In 10 full seasons of the Truck Series has earned 23 wins, 102 top fives and 157 top 10s in 244 starts.

Sauter will be reunited with fellow truck champion Matt Crafton, as well as Grant Enfinger and Ben Rhodes, on ThorSport's full-time roster. Myatt Snider is expected to make a limited run with the team as well.

Thank you Jayski. The Trucks entry list. Nemechek is racing the family truck. Chastain in the 45, Poole after a long absence in the series in the 30, and of course the crowd wower, Natalie Decker in the 54

I make that to be three females in the starting line-up (8, 10, 54). Is that a record in a national touring series for NASCAR?

Man NEMCO is really going to put Ruch behind the wheel? I hope the truck stays intact.
Joe announced a buy a ride package at the end of last year. Marketed it as a vehicle for somebody that wanted to learn the ins and out of Nascar racing I believe, and he could teach them. :idunno: But tell ya what, I am not sure that is a great start either.:D

Got to pay the bills somehow...

I think Joe will learn more from this experience than Angela will.

I don't know if there ever was a race with more than three females, but this is definately not the first one.

Chances should be pretty good. I would be really surprised if she's still in the draft by lap five.

Good call, he will get a slightly used truck afterwards if she doesn't wall it. good to go again, Probably has some money built in for that, no way he is running top stuff in that thing, young Nemo has all that.

I have not followed the series much, but from my research looks like they do qualifying the old fashioned way?

Trucks running three wide in a pack at Daytona. Makes a person hold their breath sometimes. Of course Moffitt looks good , so does Sauter and Crafto and this Rohrbaugh guy keeps going to the top of the leader board.

Creed, Friesen and Moffitt 6-8 GMS Chevy gang and Enfinger the lone Ford 5th in the top 15. It should get interesting tonight, it looks like an all Toyota show on paper, but I bet it isn't going to be so. :D
