Silly Season 2020

Roush never dumped Matt. As far as I remember he left on his own and it seemed like jack wasn't very happy about it

Well, we can look at this a variety of ways....Roush may not have dumped Matt, but if Jack isn't willing to pay what Matt was asking so he left, what would you like to call that?

From what I remember there wasn't even much negotiating. I know it was a while ago but from what I recall Matt was kinda upset of how the Edwards thing was handled and that no one was taking to him at roush about a new contract, so he went out and found something. Seemed like roush just expected Matt to stay

I'm talking about the second time he left Roush.

I guess they could truck race for entertainment.

Not enough passion. That series isn't very glamorous. You would have to love it a ton to do that. Wish we had more athletes with that kind of passion.

Bowman doesn't look like he's gonna be given the boot now, does he?

I think what people forget is the sponorship hit the whole team took and how those three much smaller salaries are saving the organization from really hurting worse than they are performance wise.

even with them they took a hit for a while but seem to be rebounding now but R&D cost $$$$$

sounded pretty much like self gloating last night. I think the others like things that are more challenging, like racing on dirt occasionally against the best in the business

I see your point, especially bearing in mind that Lowe's was among the sponsors that bailed out despite their association with the indisputably most successful driver of the last decade.
It's so nice to see them getting back on point, although I know some people will have been relishing not having Hendrick dominance for a little while. :p
Speaking of which, Chevy won tonight - on a none plate track!

There's no reason to discuss FRR & JGR. Everyone involved knows what happened, and the public has their "views" of what happened. People can believe whatever they want, who cares. I suspect one day, as folks involved get older and further removed, there will be some "other" stories that start to get told. I know I'll have a lot more to say when I'm retired. :lilangel:

We eagerly await them, thanks again for all the info you do share with us.:punkrocke

The article stated Larson would not fit the Penski mold. Does he mean drive Nascar only?
I wonder because Penski has given rides to Open Wheel drivers. Just not at the same time.

I'm guessing he meant because larson likes to run so many sprint car races outside nascar, Roger wouldn't allow it.

That’s 2021 speculation, and assumes Larson isn’t staying put, and assumes he’ll stay in NASCAR then. Too many variables too far down the road for this Space Cadet.
I just wanted to get this thread moving again, to many tin foil conspiracies in other threads right now.

fight tin foil with tin foil..good plan. I'll play. :D:swords: Bell and Larson to run under the Biagi banner, who is a SHR affiliate moving up to cup with a side deal for both to run in Tony's dirt sprint car program. Book it.

KyLar really pushing is full on race agenda recently, talking about his upcoming week/holiday race schedule.

Would love to see him in s SHR Ford with Tony supporting his efforts in Cup and other types of racing.

But Don't Book It... :D

"Biagi"

Larson will just have a place to stay while he waits 4 one of the 4 SHR cars to open in 2021.

While we make up nonsense anyone hear Kasey Kahne and Russell Wilson are starting a truck team

Larson signing for a 2021 contract isn't really that far fetched when you think about it. Harvick was signed with SHR and then still drove another full season for RCR. Kahne was even under contract by Hendrick for a full year before he even got in one of this cars. If someone really wants Larson and his last year with Chip is 2020 I wouldn't be shocked if he signed before the completion of the 2019 season. I guess it comes down to what loyalty Larson has to the guy that gave him a shot and who will let him race anything outside of nascar

Judging by the last few weeks I think it's safe to say Chevy has finally come into it's own with their new body style. I'd ride the lightning for a little while first before I decided to jump ship.

Jordan Bianchi said on the live Q&A with Gluck today that Bowyer's contract is believed to be up after this year. That's news to me. Maybe why he's been a little more edgy this season?

He also said it's no secret RPM needs more sponsorship to dollars to remain operational and he's working on a story about it.

I do believe the sponsorship will get better in the coming days.

I read back when Boyer was singed something was said about short term, and Boyer has hinted himself as much.
