Cup RACE thread --- Texas

8 races until the playoffs but you know NBC is going to show us the playoff graphic every. Single. Lap.

It was awesome last week for some when a upset like Custer wins but we get an upset this week and it’s the package that sucks. My question is why didn’t the package suck last week?
Because Dillion isn’t wildly popular around here plus Blaney kinda of got screwed

The package sucked then and it sucked today. The only positive has been the different winners. The racing is AWFUL

Can't beat the Boss's bunch. Same thing happened in the trucks last night.

Yeah...I wasn't going to break out the Reynolds Wrap myself, but that seems more likely.

Happens throughout most forms of racing.

I don’t disagree I don’t like the package either. But for some I think it depends on who wins each week that affects their preference for the package

It’s always like that. Last years Watkins Glen race was one of the worst I’ve ever seen. Everyone rated it 9-10 because Chase won lol.

Glad Dillon won rather than lucky ass Logano and Busch. Blaney, Almirola, and Dibenedetto got screwed over for sure.

Oh come on Snappy buddy, you should know that's how it works, the driver plays a big role, a popular driver winning will beat out in most times a bad race.

Everyone complaining about this package, did you love it last week when Cole Custer won. Maybe that’s an acceptable winner around here

Lots last week said the race sucked but the final few laps were great.

I damn near collapsed putting the car in the trailer. Dad dumped a bottle of water on me, i drank a bottle, and by the time i could stand up again and got in the house 5 minutes later, my pulse was still 126

IDK how these drivers do it.

Logano is finding a low key way to remark upon how absurd it is that the RCR cars were able to stay out in front of much better cars with fresher rubber.

Harvick: "Tires didn't mean anything."

Tire degradation is the only possible cure for the high downforce package.

Oh I never said I didn’t know that’s how it works, I get it. It’s just amusing to me. It’s cool to see people like Custer and Dillon win as much as it is to see the favorites win each week.

I agree it is amusing.

I was saying earlier in the race in a stream chat that Austin Dillon isn't as bad as people say. He just doesn't have the equipment. He goes on & wins the race?

Blaney got screwed.

That was great racing THROUGHOUT. Too many whiners on here, all your top cars get screwed by Houff and had too much ground to makeup in 25 laps. Logano wins that if we stay green, too many wrecks hurt him as his tire pressures were setup for a long green flag run

Maybe it’s me but I don’t remember hearing package talk last week when Custer won
Well Custer was a top 10 car in a top tier ride. Him “stealing” that race was not out of the realm of possibility. He took advantage of a GWC.

Dillion and Reddick were mid-pack cars most of the day and held off the fastest cars all day for what, 20 laps? Even when racing side by side.

There is a difference in the finish of these two races.

I'm still confused why Austin Dillon races for grandfather Richard Childress, but his younger brother Ty Dillon doesn't.

Despite that, congratulations to Austin Dillon.

They both took home a trophy I don’t rank the “legitimate-ness” of professional driver wins. I’ll leave that to others. And RCR was top 10-15 all day. All freaking day. Alexander played strategy to a T, got the car out front in clean air while Austin hung on through 2 different restarts. But luck and all...
