Dirt Late Models 2021

Crazy format they were using last night. The inverts for the heats made them interesting. But the inverts for the feature made no sense. You had two heat race winners start 16th and 18th while drivers finishing third in their heats started near the front.

I don't know how people take these types of goofy formats seriously. I suppose they justify it because it's just preliminary night, non-points racing. The USAC format at Huset's last week featured nonsensical inverts that definitely kept the fastest cars there from being in contention for the win.

Mike Marlar win the Knoxville Late Model Nationals over Tim McCreadie and Ricky Weiss (really strong runs for him lately). Looked like Tyler Erb might win for a third night in a row, but he broke a rear end while leading, was able to repair it during the fuel break caution, and rallied to finish sixth.

I'm curious why the late models are able to do 100 laps at Eldora and some other big tracks, but need a fuel stop for Knoxville.

Disguised competition caution? Would be my best guess want to keep it close?

Lucas @ Brownstown Indiana last night was red flag fever at the start. Still watching. Billy Moyer Jr got about knocked out with a dirt clod. Pulled off.

After further review doesn't look like track is a lot better than last night. Have a local class doing qualifying. Several guys spinning off 2. But they aren't jumping around so?

Crazy how the faster cars make the track look horrible. Lucas heats running. High line has some ruts. Won't be surprised to see cars flipping tonight.

Apparently can't use MavTv on more than one TV. Tried to switch between big TV & computer. Won't work. So Mav is on big one and trucks streaming on computer monitor.

Some big names not even advancing out of B-mains. I assume Bronson and Richards get into the show via provisionals.

Very little talk about Thorton's wreck last night. The damage to the car looked like someone who flipped.

Wish they would have shown a replay of Terbo running over O'Neal to get a better look at it.

Owns just Kensethed that guy! RED ALERT! RED ALERT! SOMEBODY GONNA GET THEIR DONKEY WHIPPED!

Jimmy really lost his temper there, wow.

That was eventful.

Crowd was booing Erb in victory lane, he decided to act like he was enjoying that.

They got it rebooted. 87 laps in RTG, which came from a lap down, was running 6th and hooked the mud on low part of track. Rolled nose under and must have broken something. Now they are running a relay with wreckers trying to get the car out. MUDDY! Owens leading. But for how long. Tires will have sealed over.

Man Clanton has lost his way. But McCreadie/Shepard/Richards also were horrible. All got lapped early and never made a move.
Oddly enough Clanton had them covered tonight but broke something with 11 laps to go. I missed first half of race. MavTV is weird. I checked it around 7PM to see if anything was on. Midgets. Went back couple hours later and scrolled to LIVE just on a hunch and there was Lucas at 25 laps in. Looks like McCreadie has the championship tied up.

1. McCreadie
2. Richards
3. Earl Pearson Jr. I think? Maybe he was 4th? He has a new ride and been top 5 last few weeks.

Pearson finished third, yeah. I believe Clanton just got a flat while leading. JD flattened both left side tires at one point, I assume he ran over something.

It's good to see McCreadie closing in on his first Lucas championship. Very deserving driver.

Did you notice his car bouncing going into three last 3-4 laps he ran? Not the usual susp-locked-out bounce since they were actually using the brakes & slowing down for corner entry. Don't know why he didn't just change that flat tire unless he knew something broke? I know not much to be gained with 10 laps to go but...?

Oh...I tuned in right as they were finishing JD's tire change.

Hunt The Front gets a motor update! Not a current wide bore but IMO more reliable.

Looks like the motor runs. #10 Joseph Joiner----this was hotlaps.
