I guess I’m hard to please, but I’m not gonna lie I have a hard time getting into IMSA the past few years when they get so few Daytona Prototypes. Was hoping they would have 11-12. The rest of the field looks decent besides maybe a few more in LMP3 as well.

61 entries is the most since 2014.

This is the last year to field a prototype before the LMDh comes in to play next season. LMDh and LMH should make for a better fielding of the top cars. Still, this is a great sign for sports car racing to see fields like this and being able to compete here with a field of this size.

There used to be 15-20 Daytona Prototypes at the 24, including 18 in 2014.

Not as easy to get the necessary equipment under DPi versus old DP regulations. 2014-2016 they were running weird combos of old Grand-Am DPs and old ALMS P1/P2 cars and it was a mess. I’d take the quality of the field now in a lame duck period over those filler entries back then anyways.

Next couple of years will change a lot and they’ll be in double digits again and no drop-off in quality.

Thought I would post a throwback.
This was the artwork for my first 24 hr in 1990.

Glad to see cars on track ! Peacock doing good.
Gonna be cool to see Wick do a
race stint in the Hyundai #33 next week.

It’s hard to bet against WTR with their history here, regardless of make, but I’m not entirely buying what GM are selling so far. The 48’s best lap so far is not even a tenth and a half better than the best LMP2 lap and it was by Jimmie. Corvette are 60th and 61st in the combined all-session speed charts too…

Broadcast coverage of the race coverage will begin Jan. 29 at 1:30 p.m. ET on NBC and move to Peacock at 2:30 p.m. USA Network will pick up coverage from 4-7 p.m. and then Peacock again from 7-10 pm. Coverage will return to USA Network from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m. and then move to Peacock until 6 a.m.

I'm getting really sick of NBC trying to force Peacock on everyone. It's an absolute trash streaming app and I refuse to subscribe no matter what content they add to it

I have the 5 bucks month package. If I can figure out how to upgrade probably will. But for me the 5 buck package works fine. Only issue I have is the interface is all kinds of slow. Might be my 2 year old Roku TCL TV though.

Westy/Ricky battle for the win was really good. I’m surprised it almost ended with both wrecking, seems like more risk than reward. DPi was overall very competitive as usual.

There’s a ton of traffic this year. Someone will screw up their race next weekend being too ambitious getting through it.

GTD cars being competitive with GTD Pro cars will take some getting use to.

Yeah I hate the interface. I’m half expecting the old switcheroo and get commercials spliced in next weekend but today at least I was pleased.

Figure I’ll need it all season for IndyCar and NASCAR as well anyways.

Sling interface is almost as bad. Shut Sling down for a month but missed the news too much. I don't watch much of the news, justCNN & MSNBC but am waiting for the shoe to drop. It's coming soon.

The 4.99 package says Limited Ads. Only time I've seen any ads is during breaks in Supercross. Shorter than regular channels tho.

If we can go month to month, I'll pay for the Rolex and then likely drop.

Weren't the Vettes dead last on the practice charts? Geez...
yep and if we thought it was fishy, what do you think the sanctioning body thought..lets get the weights out lol. I think they will be ok. Good to see the bimmers get theirs also. Hello Porsches

I bet the rear wing angle changes help them more than anything.
It must be nearly impossible to BOP the GT3s to each other and then BOPing LMGT1 cars to run with the GT3s. Once the GT3 Vette is ready I think the rules makers will have an easier job. We rag on IMSA and the ACO for getting the BOP wrong, but it's actually amazing they can get it so close with such diverse equipment.

Should be an amazing race, but then again, it usually is.
