NFL 2021-22

The Seahawks are facing a rebuild anyway, so it's probably better to part with Wilson now while he is still worth such a package. When were those rumored offers you're referencing made?

The Bears rumor came last month, and the Commanders rumor was a couple days ago. Maybe it was leaked (made up) by Seattle to get more out of Denver?

But other than the no.9 pick, they didn't really get a high level asset in return. Their haul wasn't bad by any means, but if I'm a Seahawks fan, I would have wanted another decent pick in the deal or a player better than Noah Fant.

Joe Buck is joining Aikman on MNF at ESPN, and presumably for baseball and other assignments. He won't be calling the World Series anymore though, obviously. This is a wild realignment and huge financial commitment by ESPN to fix their NFL booth. What does Fox do now that they've lost the entirety of their top NFL booth and sports voice of the network? Promote within? Make a play for Al Michaels?

Fox is reportedly pursuing Al Michaels.

Deshaun Watson is "innocent"......

I think he ends up in Philadelphia or Carolina, but he would certainly be a good fit in Pittsburgh considering their love for douchey, rapey quarterbacks

The Saints are reportedly making a run at him too.

I like what I'm seeing here. Brady back and Buck to Baseball where I won't have to listen to him anymore. :punkrocke

Joe Buck is still calling MNF games, but honestly MNF might be the worst selection of games every week if I’m being honest. Usually ends up being 4 or 5 weeks of good games on ESPN/ABC and the rest are bad matchups.

MNF was getting the shaft and a poor schedule when ESPN had a deteriorating relationship with the NFL in the '10s. Ironically, they were also paying more than any other network during those years. In the new contract, they are getting flex scheduling and more preferred treatment.

Also, Buck and Aikman are superb and catch flack for no good reason. I am surprised they made this move with Fox having two of the next three Super Bowls. Clearly the relationship with Fox had gone south, not sure why.

I didn’t realize ESPN was getting flex scheduling for Monday Night Football. That is a big deal because the matchups have been terrible for the most part. I don’t mind Joe Buck but think Aikman is so-so, better than Collinsworth these days.

2 big splashes in free agency on defense for Chargers with Mack and Jackson, a hefty cap hit but me likey, setting up a win now window.

Russell Wilson a Bronco.... the AFC West gets stronger

Rodgers getting $75 million guaranteed if he retires after 2022 or 2023. $150 million if he retires after 2024

The AFC West is really tough now that the Broncos have a QB worth something

All 4 teams could make the playoffs. Obviously that might not happen but all 4 teams look good on paper. Hard to predict because the Chargers have a really good QB, Denver has solid defense now with a QB, and the Raiders found ways to win last year.

And now the division features Davante Adams.

Packers getting a 1st, a 2nd, and more to be named later including a player. It is dubbed as a "massive" haul by reports

Let's hope this blockbuster WR trade goes better for the Raiders than the last one, which I think it will considering it's a reunion of Fresno State Bulldog teammates between Carr and Adams. They're getting a top-5 receiver in the league.

Seems a good deal for both sides, Green Bay avoids a 2nd huge payday and is getting a lot in return.

I'm glad my Browns aren't getting Watson. I don't care how good he is, I don't want a sexual predator as the face of the franchise and I don't want to give up three 1st-rd picks plus "two or three additional premium assets" in order to acquire him.

Baker is as good as gone, and I'm indifferent about the whole situation. It became clear throughout the '21 season that Stefanski and Baker weren't on the same page, and I get the feeling that both the front office and coaching staff no longer trusts/wants Baker, and generally speaking, the locker room doesn't seem to be on board with him either.

I'm guessing the Browns will trade Baker to Indy or Seattle for a 2nd or a 3rd, which is fine. As far as his replacement goes, who knows. If Watson chooses Atlanta, I would like to make a run for Matt Ryan. If he chooses New Orleans, I'm assuming we will try and get Jimmy G from San Francisco, or sign a guy like Mariota. I would be on board with drafting Kenny Pickett at 13.

What a wild offseason.

I remember not all that long ago Cleveland won the Superbowl in April. Funny how sometimes what's on paper doesn't pan out.

That being said, I completely agree with ya.

Clayton was excellent at this job for a long time.

I'm not going to get self righteous about Watson. I guess I'm glad he won't be playing for a team I root for. However, I'm generally a believer in due process. Somehow of all of these accusations collected by and represented by the same sleaze attorney, not a single one was found to be supported by enough evidence to establish probable cause that a crime was committed. A grand jury indictment is a pretty low bar in a high profile case in which there is public demand for accountability. No defense is even presented at a grand jury, so this isn't a case of high powered defense attorneys beating a charge. Maybe the civil trials will pan out differently, or maybe not, but I'm not going to pass judgment at this time.

Gonna be fun watching the browns fans who **** on “Ben Rapisberger” now defend the indefensible.

I'm not defending it. I'm so pissed that it made me lose all interest in whatever else happens this offseason. But yeah, I am sure there are several fans who will do mental gymnastics to try and convince themselves he's not that bad, but a lot of Browns fans are extremely upset right now. WHen I heard the news, I felt sick to my stomach.

I'll continue to root for the Browns but I'll never like Watson, I'll never make excuses for Watson, I'll never support Watson, and I'll celebrate the day he is no longer our QB no matter how many games he helps us win. Unfortunately, being only 26 years old, it seems like he's going to be our QB for a long time.

I'll just leave this here........

Deshaun Watson just became the highest paid player in NFL history after raping a bunch of women and Daniel Snyder is still an owner.

"STOP HATE"
And he’s probably only going to get a 6 game suspension while Calvin Ridley’s gonna miss the whole season for making a $1,500 bet on FanDuel.
