Dirt Late Models 2022

Looked it up, seems like Saterlee is in a Rocket. That may be the drive of the night, given how bad the rest of them were.

Dirt late models are putting out the cash this year. I think they said Chris Ferguson has already won around $300,000 this year, I may be wrong on that, but I thought that was what I read somewhere. That was a fast 50 grand for Davenport tonight.

Tonight is the preliminary night for the Eldora Million. Track crews spent yesterday taking up the "new dirt" that has been an issue all season. We'll see how that works out the next several days.

Bottom of 3 & 4 already getting little rough...in hot laps. Rain, Rain, Rain & more Rain. Not much they can do. Probably should have just delayed the feature till tomorrow & just spread todays events out over several hours this evening.

They have a schedule they're going to stick to no matter what. Just like when they ran the 2020 Dream and World 100 on Friday-Saturday and the 2021 editions on Wednesday-Thursday last year, they're locked into the Dream format of Friday-Saturday. Looks like the track will be okay. Going to be dry, slick for the twin features this afternoon. I'm sure tonight will be a dust pit. Not sure they'll have a lot of time to put into the track for tonight's program.

Just signed up for Race Monitor. For 5 bucks a year it's a steal. "Watching" second heat right now. Lap times went from 16ish seconds in hot laps to high 17's in heats.

HTF new car was darting right on qualifying, From their Patreon:

Here’s video of Joseph’s qualifying run during today’s Eldora Million prelims at Eldora Speedway.
***SPOILERS AHEAD***
We battled a right-front brake issue in qualifying, but Joseph still managed the 27th fastest lap in Group B qualifying. We’ll start seventh in a heat race taking the top five to this afternoon’s Group B feature.

Chase Briscoe is getting better and looked a lot quicker in that B-Main, finishing fourth. Was hoping Tyler Courtney would be better, but he was off and fading. Not sure what if any track prep they're going to do before the two "Wednesday" A-Maine, but it sounds like they are planning some extended track work before the night program.

They just watered the track.

The heats for the night show are starting now. More than 20 cars per heat. Cars finishing 12fh and worse don't even make a B. Intensity high. A million dollars on the line. Wow.

Heats over, they were wild. Some even wilder B-Mains coming up to set the back of the field. Hudson O'Neal will be on the pole, with Davenport starting second. I think JD is going to be very hard to beat.

Glad Mcdowell raced in. Hes a good shoe. I think Davenport will take it but I like Pierce too

Hate that Bloomquist got packed in his race, but he had to make that move and didnt work out

The broadcast said the driveline snapped, that's why he slowed and Sheppard got into him. He was definitely flying in that heat.
