Silly Season 2023

Of course not.

But so ****** what?

You know what's great about what NASCAR has done with Bubba (even though he's HARDLY marketed anymore)

It's weeded out the fans that can't keep up with the world, and happily leaving them in the dust.

Expanding on that train of thought there at the last… NASCAR has gotten its act together in the last few years; whether the fan reaction has been gleeful or spiteful, I don’t really care because there has most definitely been an apparent rise in interest for a multitude of reasons. NASCAR went from circling the drain under the anything-but-steady hand of Brian France to catching numerous W’s since he’s been gone. I think the sport has done a great job of capitalizing on opportunities to slow the bleed out and arguably reverse course to a much healthier state of being. Absolutely great scenes for any pure racing fan.

Not sure what this means for RCR and Reddick

Another one headed to McLaren? Getting the Dillon-Dillon RCR super team we’ve all been asking for?
Ty has expressed on many occasions not wanting to drive for Richard's team.

However, Ty did have an option for next year and I think Ty will move to RCR next year. This move has Richard's prints all over it, IMHO.

This tweet might mean more than most of us thought this morning

Do you know when Reddick is leaving?

Yes, but is Hill or Creed even ready for that jump even after next season?

Performance next year will decide if RCR goes in-house to move or whomever is a free agent come the 2023 offseason.

I know its a big hypothetical but IF Reddick were to be released in favor of Ty in the #8 what would Reddick do for next season? I don't see a Toyota seat available for him in the cup series next season?

The Ty interview with Pockrass made it sound like the team more or less told him they were going in a different direction

I'd think Gragson end up in the 16 I don't think AJ wants to run full cup

Is the #16 going full-time next year? I'd take a Kaulig ride over Petty, if the #8 doesn't open up early. Reddick's shown the #8 can be a winner.
16 is full time this year and has a charter...just not a full time driver

What if Jr. and Kelley buy into RCR? JRM and RCR combine forces in Xfinity, and share ownership of the #3 and #8 Cup teams. The 3 and 8 have an alliance with HMS.

It would make sense for all parties, IMO.

That would get tricky as Rick owns part of JR motorsports

If Ryan Preece really is a done-deal for the 10 car next year, as many assumed when his 2022 "reserve driver" status for SHR was announced, it would appear Bob Pockrass didn't get the memo. Personally, I think "That Jones Boy" in the 10 would be pretty formidable...

Because Austin has been such an asset lol. and before I get the "he has a win" comment. Even a blind squirrel can fond a nut once in awhile :D
He has been pretty fast in that 3 car never been a championship contender sure but a very capable driver. Won a lot at Xfinity and Truck level something Ty didn't do.

Listened to the Ty interview with Claire B and that was pretty good. Sounds like GMS was looking around and he pretty much went to them and flat out asked them. They want to do something else.

Said he's a free agent for 23 and would like to race for RC, supposedly always has wanted to but situation just never allowed it.

Said he's really committed to winning, so part of me thinks he might be looking to get a top level Xfinity ride?

I must agree that Austin has been better in the new car than he was in previous years.

To be clear, I think this is much more of a "could happen" idea than an actual realistic possibility. It seems like JRM is content to stay the course and potentially buy a Cup charter at some point, which I'm sure would be built in their own shop with a strong technical alliance with HMS. I get the vibe that Kelley and Dale want to build on what they have and continue to call the shots, and I don't really think Childress seems like the type to sell a share of his team. Although I'm sure some people used to say the same about Jack Roush, so there's that.

There seems to be a succession plan at RCR with the Dillion family taking it over. Rough never really had that

I do think we could see Ty Dillon full time in Xfinity next year. Whether it be the 3 (RCR), 48, 31 affiliated RCR cars I’m not sure.

Kind of agree but we’ve been surprised before. It’s a nice sentimental story for Jr and Kelley to buy into their fathers former team for whom he had much success for but....I think they have their own plan to get to Cup if they so choose.

Richard Childress already sold a chunk of RCR decades ago, back in the 1990's. Google Chartwell Investments, a private equity firm. Chartwell was looking for a buyer a few years ago, so they may have sold the shares to someone else by now.

Maybe we should pool our resources and make an offer to buy that stake in RCR... I could pledge ten dollars!

The guys on DBC were hunting that they may be looking for a replacement for the 41 driver?

Cole seems like a decent guy, but I’d be more than okay with this. It’s over midway through year 3 and he hasn’t shown notable improvement. He’s being significantly outperformed by Almirola and Briscoe both, despite the team’s overall troubles.
