Kyle Busch to RCR

Totally fair point. Allow me to edit....speaks to the businessman he is. I sincerely appreciate you pointing that out. I believe that these NASCAR characters are brands. They promote a certain something that sells. I do believe that that brand does not necessarily reflect who the person is....but in regard the Reddick issue and screwing with a guy's career out of spite....well, each member can draw their own conclusions as they have time and again with Coach.
Huh???
Denny literally announced the Reddick was starting with the 23XI team starting in 2024.
RCR has provided Reddick with race winning cars and an actual ability to advance his career.
RCR still needed a driver for the 8 car at the time of the contract option announcement.
Now RCR has leverage in an unforeseen situation that has occurred at 23XI.
I don't understand your comment at all.

Why would JGR care about the PR? David Wilson pointed out that if they really wanted to, why wouldn't they flood the field with Toyotas, and win every week? It doesn't work that way for Toyota, but, you know...the narrative. The only thing that speaks to a culture issue with Kyle at JGR is that Stevens went to Bell by his own accord. That was shocking, and speaks to how high the maintenance has been. Having said all of that, I would imagine that the reasons that Kyle is out are multi-factorial....IF they could have had him at a bargain, it would have been more convenient to keep him. They couldn't, and Ty quickly became a viable alternative early.
EVERYBODY cares about the PR. You just suggested that some of the personas in the sport are created solely for image. JGR didn't need the narrative that they were running off the era's most prolific driver just because he is a pain in the ass, especially after all the other drivers they have kicked to the curb, justifiably or not. As for your point about Toyota, I agree that's generally not how they do business, but IF it was important enough to them to keep him, they would have found a way. Manufacturers have been know to funnel large sums of money to drivers and teams to keep them in the fold, sometimes directly, other times not so overtly.

Why won't Richard release Reddick do you suppose?

Who in the hell would blame JGR for dumping Kyle? Listen to this freaking board on any given day. The PR would likely be good. I agree with your assessment of manufacturer involvement, but I find it funny that in the context of Toyota.....it's throwing money at the sport, but in the context of the unnamed references you suggested, it's just the way business is done.

Why should he? He signed a contract… take off the Toyota fan glasses for a second and look at it from a neutral standpoint. If he’s signed to race for them then Richard has every right to keep him for the time he has him.

He knows all that, it's the misdirection thing. Throw a bunch of B.S. out there to cover up the real facts and those are simple.
Reddick wandered over to Hamlin, Hamlin desperate for talent signs up Reddick after Reddick tells him he is under contract with RCR until the end of 23. All good.
But then Hambone blabs about the signing, something Reddick says wasn't supposed to happen (it damages RCR's plans for 23) but jackass Hamlin aparently doesn't care. Guess what, as in driver grudges, owner grudges are just as real. Jackass Hamlin isn't getting Reddick until Richard Childress says he is.

If I was childress I wouldn't let Reddick out of his contract unless 23xi made it worth letting him out of his contract.

All you’d have to do is provide a competitive team, cars and his monthly remuneration.

Shouldn’t be a problem. Sometimes retribution is costly.

Come on man....He took his team and his crew chief from him. He is dicking with Reddick because he can. I get that...but really? He's going to drop 20 million for a charter or lease one for what? A neutered team? Spare me the Toyota glasses stuff. There is significance in that Richard told Tyler about all of this one hour before Brexton was offered a deal from a guy who punched his Dad in face. We have heard Richard babble about how Tyler did that to him. Richard is getting off on making the kid suffer. Certainly, within his contractual rights, but kind of sick too.

Kyle isn’t done winning.
Depends on how much we are talking. Never forget that with the Next Gen, all of the pieces are the same....and of course, everybody signs off on the bodies. How different is what he is getting into from what he is getting out of....besides the incomparable TRD badass powerplant? Kyle ain't happy with the Next Gen....wasn't happy with the previous Gen either.....Maybe Richard will give him a hug.

Didn’t Tyler not tell Richard at all? One hour is better than finding out when an announcement is made…

If Joe Gibbs did this, you wouldn’t have a single issue with it man.

I’ve never thought of the Toyotas as having any kind of horsepower advantage.

He's dropping money on a charter not for anything to do with Tyler but because buying a charter means owning an appreciating asset. That chart won't cost RCR anything in the long run. Either they sell it after next season for more than they paid, or they lease it out and it becomes part of their revenue stream, or they keep fielding a third team with a different driver after Reddick.

Also the Brexton deal was literally just a $100 bill that RC wrote "Brexton Contract Option" on and signed and handed to Brexton for fun. There isn't literally a deal for him right now like you're presenting it to be.

The wins stopped after the crew chief change. I think with the right personnel he’ll get back to winning.
Didn’t the change happen last season? He didn’t do great in 2020 either. In fact he got more wins last year than he did 2020… so it stopped before the change

He ran better when Stevens was crew chief. That’s my point.
Well I guess you worded it wrong, because that wasn’t what you said. Every driver slows down at some point. Kyle could have a huge season, or he could maybe never win again. I doubt that last one, but everyone stops winning at some point. But I’m sure Kyle has at least maybe I say, 7 more wins in him.

Guess so. I mean I could be wrong. A change could be what Kyle needs. He could end up having a 10 win season next year, which wouldn’t shock me. But NASCAR is a wild beast. Pretty sure no one saw Jimmie Johnson wins stopping after Dover in 2017. It’s crazy how no one can predict that type of stuff.

I expect him to win again too, but who knows, did anybody think the spring 2017 dover race would be Jimmie johnsons last?

Jimmie quit winning when they brought in the lasers. 🫣

could very well be a coincidence. He came close a few times after. Made a few mistakes or got caught up in other people’s mess.

My point is, you just never know when a drivers day is done and they rolled into Victory Lane one last time.

Are those the same power plants that have been detonating lately......asking for a friend
