Hendrick Motorsport News

Predictable, but such a joke. Anybody wanna bet that those louvers show up on the Garage 56 farce....or did they come off of the Garage 56 farce? Hard to keep up in the corrupt world of NASCAR.
Aw man, the way you were talking, I thought you were going to start a go fund me account to help out the Hendricks.

Betcha a whole bunch of haulers just made a u turn and are heading back to the shop for some "modifications."

Honestly pissed as hell WE didn't appeal Pocono. WE took NASCAR seriously. Bad move. This is embarrassing for the sport....but engineers have at it now! It's a whole new NASCAR baby. Pay to play!!!!!

If you modify a part, a rule has been broken, right?
Yes and that's why the fine and suspensions were upheld, because the teams "broke" a rule. Penalizing the drivers/cars the points didn't make sense as they didn't actually take to the track with said parts on their cars.

This appeal was all about the points. Nothing else mattered.

Unless you were at the hearing and have first hand knowledge of the evidence presented, you are just blowing smoke. I have always been in favor of these hearings being broadcast live, but I don't think NASCAR would EVER allow such a thing as it would expose how generally incompetent they have been in administering their rules and making their case for penalties. Hopefully the actual FACTS of this situation will come to light at some point, but I think BOTH sides of the case have a vested interest keeping a tight lid on all the BS that goes on behind the scenes

Still why was HMS and Kaulig the only Chevy cars (5 out of 16) that that had an issue with a common supplied part

Would think all 16 cars would have same issue

I imagine you can modify a part as much as you want as long as you don't compete with it.

The new process
Complain about a part
Modify the part
Practice with it
If it doesn’t give you more speed
Show it to nascar

So the teams' points penalties were 100% restored?

It's an assumption that no other Chevy teams had issues with them. We don't know and it's unlikely any of teams want to talk about it if they did.

Pretty sure the car never hit the track, they found it before practice.

It shouldnt matter when rules are broken.
Many of these things are subjective. A team's perception of breaking a rule may not be the same as NASCAR's. That's WHY there is a pre-competition inspection.

Kind of hard to appeal the inspector lifting the wrap in victory lane and voila, there's the mod. I will give HMS credit for there was at least plausible deniability with how they were busted. That said, I think I agree with you that it's bad optics. HMS living up to their past reputation as "innovators" and NASCAR being popped by an independent board for overreach.

Felony Motorsports gets away with another transgression. I’m sure the miraculous Rick has some appeal board members on the payroll.

But I have a former Cup winning crew member as a patient and he said that Five Star's quality control on composite bodies was utter s*** in Xfinity series and is even worse in Cup. You get the parts way out of tolerance, but can't modify them to fit and pass inspection because of "tampering with sole supplier part." It's kind of a joke. He also told me that's why you'd see crew members with umbrellas by car near inspection line. They're so temperamental that just being out open in the sun would cause expansion/flex of the bodies that threw them out of legal tolerances.

How is it even breaking a rule unless you try to compete with it?

One can only imagine the parts way outside the box that teams have ran in testing (on track or wind tunnel) over the years to find out how much messing in an area provides gains. Look at all the well placed dents that used to show up on the side panel or how the side skirts "accidently" would get flared out.

A guy with a ski mask and an AK47 outside of a bank has done nothing wrong, right?

That's what Garage 56 is for.

Bull. ****.

100%. Jeffy and Chadly would have you believe that they should be awarded extra points for the embarrassment. I'm sure NASCAR is working on it.
Do you know Jim? Why would you attack his credibility over something he has no control over, NASCAR handed down severe penalties but the appeal's panel made the decision to reduce it.
He runs the show, and this part of the show is a real joke man. Really bad. Hard to take this seriously. The '20 Camaro, Garage 56, this....I am sure he is a great human being, but unless you love Hendrick and Chevy, it's hard to take all of this seriously.

Reminds me of this video Larry Mac did.

PS this is a great video series of 60-90 second videos explaining the cheating or rule skirting done in Nascar. Much of which most of already know, but still a great video series.

Alright, I'm out on this. Gonna go back to celebrate MY above board 100% legal ass kicking by Tyler Reddick in that TRD powered 100% legal Monster Energy Toyota Camry TRD. Hendrick will always Hendrick. So that I don't have to post this later.....STFU Jeffy and Chad.

Why would you?
Like I said in my other post, to see how much gains you can potentially make in that area. If you trick out something like hood louvers and find out even the best aero design you can come up with only makes 2 counts of downforce, but you trick out the area of the rub blocks (like TRD was doing) and gain 200 counts I guess I'd know where I'd be spending my time trying to maximize the tolerances.

But hey lets not let logic get in the way of a good argument..............

And unless you love Gibbs and Toyota, it's hard to take you seriously.

Nobody is stupid enough to believe this, The endless yap will continue. Nascar tried to help out the rice burners because they are getting their asses smoked, but Hendrick was able to prove to the independent panel that their WAS a communication problem so they got their points back. So go cry a river.

I bet just like all the other cars on the grid that day if they dug deep enough it wasn't 100% legal.

Well, at least he wasn't there when they chopped the b**ls off the motors at TRD's behest. Then he'd have too much egg on his face to ever recover. ;)

Where'd you hear this?
We've been down this road once already. Last year when TRD had that brief time when they were killing everyone one the 1.5 milers they had figured out how to seal up the rub blocks to gain a ton of downforce. Nascar got wise to it and instead of dropping the hammer on them they allowed the other manufacturers to do it as well and just like that the Toyota domination was gone. People tried to claim that once they took the tape on the nose away they lost it, but in reality that tape didn't do crap it was the sealing up of the rub block area.

This isn't something I made up Todd Gordon was the one that was talking about it a few weeks back on the late shift
