Nascar has seen what happens if he’s out. Think they want that for the playoffs? It’s NOT FAIR OR RIGHT, but money talks. I’m just waiting to see what media has the stones to call it out.

I mean are we really not gonna wait until the SMT data comes out? Suspend him if it was on purpose but there's nothing confirming that as of now, everyone is just freaking out cause that's what happens when Elliott is involved in literally anything.

We thought that was intentional and put other competitors at risk. And as we look at the sport and where we are today and where we want to draw that line going forward, we thought that definitely crossed the line and that’s what we focused on in terms of making this call.”

This isn't a Chase thing. This is a gen 7 thing. If this was the COT or gen 4 there wouldn't be an uproar.

But with there being so much pushback about safety with this car, any right hook retaliation is going to make fans lound.

The "woe is Chase" card doesn't play in this case. And if it does, we can't know. Because the precident is that right hooking someone is outrageous.

If the data shows it was intentional I hope NASCAR is consistent, thats all I want.

I’m trying to be rational, but the optics are REALLY, REALLY bad on this one. I’m siding with the anti-Elliott mob here

Not suspending Chase would be a PR nightmare for NASCAR. They suspended a black driver for that exact same thing.

The path of least resistance to suspend Chase for a week and give him a playoff waiver. I would be very surprised if he didn't win before the end of the regular season, which would render the penalty meaningless anyway.
 
This is the most frustrating part. There’s a section of the fanbase that is truly racist and give us a black eye. But that makes it so you can’t criticize him without being branded with the Scarlet R. Both extremes are wrong.
