Stewart-Haas Racing

How would you feel if he was still with legacy?
After his social media behavior, I would feel the same. I don't have to worry about that....this is not the kind of guy who runs on MY teams. There are a few things in life bigger than Toyota for me (not many).....equity and respect are among them. Tony can handle the resurrection project. He made a run at Larson too. The Badass v. The World is not a good look....but ya know....one win amongst four teams gets the adrenaline flowing. I really am disappointed with SHR. I like Tony. Much respect for his Toyota hatred, and how he didn't cave, and left JGR because of it. I admire that conviction. I really do....but his band of renegade crap is juvenile and stupid. WWF stuff.

Yeah, I don't see those emotions on his sleeve. I see a guy that acts like an entitled ass, and he paid the price for it. I just hope the media stays away from the inevitable crap about what a changed man he is, and how he has grown up, and how he has read books, and how he has found himself. I don't want to see asshats like this get worshipped for **** they should have never done in the first place. I absolutely loved watching Ty Gibbs kick his ass in Phoenix last year. The stage was set. Noah--at that time--a man of the people was going to pay Ty back. The place was ready to go nuts. Noah couldn't catch him. Get used to that.
okay.

I’ll start liking Noah when he decides to put the bumper to the 1 car. Talk is cheap.

Unpretentious. Do any of those "racers" even know what that means....or how to say the word? Please make it stop. Dear God. I heard Briscoe talk about the next Harvick for SHR....that should be pretty easy using 2023 as a template I would think.

Bold and unapologetic…..We one a single race between our drivers, and **** you to every team that matters who has won 0. #Badass

Tony left Gibbs for money, that was his main motivation.

It was a bit awkward because Gibbs switched to Toyota's and Tony's dirt program and personal sponsorship was tied to G.M.. Yeah, you could say it was money, he was going to lose some.
I have always found that time and situation interesting. My understanding was that JD went to Tony's home to tell him personally. This seems more than money to me. I am ignorant about dirt....was there not a Toyota to Tony's tie to GM? ....and when you speak of Tony's personal sponsorship to GM, are you talking about a PSA? If so, every driver has that with their OEM. That could have been replaced by one with Toyota. My point being that while Tony was getting money from GM, why wasn't he agreeable to getting that same kind of money from Toyota if this was a money deal? I also find it very interesting that at the moment Tony was shooting his mouth off about the Toyota Driver Development Program, David Wilson had never met him. I find that interesting that one of the greatest of all time drove a year with Toyota, and the then VP of TRD had not met him. That, IMO, is about relationship more than money.

Well you have your fairy tale at least.

You would think sold out Joe would have learned. But he lost Larson and Bell ain't happy.

Gibbs said Tuesday he learned early in his tenure that sprint car racing was Stewart’s passion and the car owner had to accept Stewart’s participation in other series. He said all team meetings were disrupted by Stewart updating the group on his latest adventures outside of NASCAR.

“I had to spend 30 minutes listening to him how he won a dirt late model race, and I wanted to go, ‘I don’t care, OK?'” Gibbs said, laughing. “But he was so excited. I came to the conclusion that was him — for him to be happy and doing the things that he wanted to do, he was going to be racing.”

At the time with Gibbs:

He owns Tony Stewart Racing which races in USAC Midget and Sprint Car divisions and World of Outlaws Sprint Car series. Combined he has eight championships from his four drivers, one of which is the current reigning champion. He also owns three dirt car tracks, one which he owns fully.

Following 23XI, it looks like SHR is going to do a rebrand them selves

He never had Larson. Bell is fine. The Felon is following suit. You are taking this article out of context, and you know it. You are boring me.

Early in his career, Kyle Larson was signed as a Toyota development driver. However, Toyota didn’t have any seats for him and the driver bailed.

We have discussed this. Kyle Larson was never part of the Toyota Driver Development Program. Ever. The program was created in part because WE couldn't hold onto him. In fact, Lee White hated the idea of developing drivers. When David Wilson took over, the program was created. Tony Stewart made an ass out of himself by swinging at Toyota who did nothing but treat him with class....but ya know....unapologetic, unpretentious, bold, and all of that other ****.

So I guess this is the new branding? Personally I preferred the old one better

When one has a wooden head it doesn't matter how many quotes from trusted news sources are posted compared to the yap yap of flapping gums.

Before any of this happened, Toyota developed Kyle Larson, but he ultimately chose to sign with Chip Ganassi Racing and Chevrolet when there was no room for him at Gibbs.

The narrative.

We could do this all day....

"We'd love to keep him associated with our brand, but we don't do driver development programs," White said.

....but you have to have this. Just have to. Kinda like a kid who tries to convince himself that the truth he so desperately needs isn't a lie. Heartwarming really.
