We had to learn how to use one of those in high school for a physics class. By the time I started college, pocket calculators had replaced them. I wonder how many people under 60 know what one is; I'm sure they've never seen one.

I think the photo was from 1983 or 1984 and the prison time was at a later time in the 80's.

#29 Buddy Howard won four track championships at GPS 1977-1980. The narrow front street tires were used for transport on the open trailor.

#17 Jerry Hughes Camaro. He probably would have won the GPS 1976 championship but he got took out during a caution during the last points paying race of the season.

I agree it looks like it is set up for dirt, but I think he won in the same car on the asphalt at Hickory.

I saw David Pearson race several times but never on dirt. They say he was great on dirt too, I dont think he had a weakness.
