Texas RACE thread

Today I be classy just like my driver. Didnt even mention the 24 hitting the wall :waver:

Serious question...

Why aren't the other 3 Hendrick car getting cars as good as Jimmie's? Supposedly they all get the same equipment so why is it only Jimmie get the supreme 10 second car? Jimmie's good but ain't no way he is fast all by himself. What's the damn secret?

He is jus better.

Well I have to say that I was expecting a Kenseth victory today based on the fact that he's been pretty good at Texas & that Jimmie although he's not been bad there, he hasn't been as good as Matt. Guess I owe somebody a beer, great run by the 48, congrats to Jimmie. If Matt wants this title bad enough, he knows now that he's gonna have his hands full all the way to the checkered flag at Homestead. These last 2 races are gonna be tense...

The 48 chewed um up and spit em out. Car and driver were unbeatable, he schooled the best and left them shaking their heads. Good to see Jr. bust out in a genuine smile, Kahne? not so much. All three races were good. On to Phoenix.

I wouldn't spend $370k on one either, even if I had it. Still a badass car though, 200+ mph top speed. It's the car in which Kyle Busch got busted for doing 128 in a 35.

I refrained the entire race from saying it but - did anyone notice the grandstands? I'm sure Eddie Gossage will tell us there were a half million people there or whatever but that place was empty. Texas will never lose a date but - how does a track surrounded by millions and millions and millions of people in a market that's so favorable to NASCAR get attendance like that?

They didn't even attempt to conceal how empty that joint was. That's probably the worst attendance, percentage wise, all year.

Opening day of deer season today kinda hurts it.You know there is alot of rednecks here that like to hunt.:D

If the NFL is going to produce problems, maybe NASCAR and TMS need to host their Chase race on a Saturday night. It should be on a Saturday night anyways if they want to ****** run it in primetime but then Gossage won't get to host Trucks and Nationwide in front of over 160,000 empty seats.

Television is more important than attendance but Texas has been the "bright spot" for years and years. I'm worried about whether NASCAR can survive now.

If Texas can't handle two races a year, maybe it's time for Gossage and Bruton to swallow their pride and admit it so a track that deserves to host a race can do so.

How many times is Andy going to mention Gossage in one thread? Let it go.

If you read between the lines, Andy is nothing but a nascar troll, let him cry and stomp his feet, and bang his head against the wall. He is like a broken record..nascar sucks nascar sucks, tv coverage sucks, no people no people, nascar is doomed. funny fellow. and BTW Phoenix is sold out, but they have some room on rattlesnake hill..now what toadie? you have TV coverage sucks, boring race, and Nascar sucks left to crybaby about..

Fair? I know Texas can hold a quarter million and has the parking and camping to do it. 100 thou and the place looks empty, I've been there many times, but don't tell Andy that, he's an expert, and thinks the place needs to be condemned, Probably going next year when they put up the giant big screen.."Big Hoss"

Well he has a point - poor attendance has been a key factor in, or at least justification for, several race tracks losing a date or getting taken off the circuit completely. Texas shouldn't be exempt from that because it's one of Bruton's big babies.

I thought Texas was more like 135,000.
sheet man, they have seats over on the backstretch all the way around also. They don't use them and keep everybody on the other side. But they can seat that many. they were trying to get Texas Oklahoma game in the infield, that is what the kink in the straight in front of the stands was put there for. Place is huge for a 1.5, much bigger than Kansas unless you count the casino across the street.
