Spring/Summer weather thread.

Thanks again all. Nothing like a good old fashioned disaster to bring friends and family together. We'll have a house full until we get it all sorted out. Morale is good so we're good.

Sure wish it would warm up so I can get outside and get to work. Oh, well, guess I'll run errands and work outside this afternoon.

It was 40 ° when I got up this morning.

It's been raining off and on for most of the week now and it looks like it will be doing so for at least a few more days. It was in the 60's before, now it's in the 50's, which is great unless you are out in the rain for a while like I was when my son and I helped my brother load his motorcycle into the bed of my wife's truck so he could take it to get it worked on.

It's warming up, but the dang WIND is howling again--- can't do my spraying for weeds/bugs in the wind. And, it makes mowing a pain in the butt -- I don't like grass clippings in my face.

Braved the wind anyway to get some heavy brush mowing done. And what happens, after I get through and get my shower --- the danged wind has died down. :p

Finally got after the limbs and weeds the last 2 days. Mornings have been cool and less humid. 3 pickup loads of fallen limbs on the burn pile and burned. Mowed around the trees where the weeds had grown up around the limbs. Got the sprayer cranked up and sprayed foliage killer around the trees --- I HATE, LOATHE, and DETEST using a weed eater. Grounds around the house beginning to look better.

Mower place picked up big mower for its annual Spring checkup -- still have lawn tractor for backup-- it will go in next month. Got trash hauled to street for tomorrow morning. Washed pickup -- at least now you can see that it is blue instead of yellow pollen. Got to the fitness center for brief workout, too stiff/sore for full go-round.

86° and breezy on porch right now. Humidity is higher, but not as bad as it can be.

Saturday and Sunday were beautiful. Saturday started off a little cloudy, but by the time the afternoon rolled around and I headed to the track, perfect. And the Sunday was troublesome. I had pictures to edit, yard work to do, perfect weather to enjoy, and the race was on.

Since then, it's been cloudy and cool.

Yard work and more work on the boat.

Blue Angel's practicing overhead again today. That never get's old.

Spent most of yesterday building a ramp for the dog to use when we get her back from her knee surgery.
I painted it after this and of course a shower came over.

Clutch, that sounds about right. Wash your car, it rains. Do painting outside, it rains -- or a wind stirs up the dust. *sigh*
I have a ramp for my dogs, too. No surgery, just aching joints. I use it, too. LOL

Make sure the dog doesn't slip on the painted surface when it's moist in the morning. That wouldn't be good with a fresh knee :(
Yeah, thanks Bobby...I quoted your post from my phone with the picture and I got some random quote...?

The ramp is for this one.....her name is Nacho and like all Jack Russells is all go......and I'm sure hurt the knee herself but we'd sure miss her if she was gone.

Back to Texas weather --- last night was rough. Storms blew in about 8 PM last night and hung around all night. Fortunately, the strong winds
died quickly and didn't do any damage --- think I have one limb down that I can see from the house. Got out about an hour ago to check the dogs --- they
are their usual wet/dirty selves.
Poured 2.5 inches of rain out of the gauge --- may have more coming, but shouldn't be heavy.
Had to drag a sweatshirt out of the closet --- 58° outside and may not get much warmer.

Got a few thunderstorms passing through at the moment. Rain is refreshing as long as it's not on the weekend.

I'm not going to bitch about the rain anymore unless it's like last weeks deluge because my Mother-in-law lives in the Texas panhandle in Pampa and the drought up there is like the dust bowl of the dirty thirties.

Another 1/4" of rain last night -- and 53° on the front porch. Sun is trying to come through the clouds.
Wind is straight out of the north -- with the high humidity, it's cold outside.
The ground is so wet, the puddles in my driveway are still there --- and I live on a hill of sand.

Very sunny today but it is only 45, but that's 45 on the good side of the thermometer. It is a cool spring this year. (I noticed my furnace running this morning).

We had some pretty severe storms here Monday night. There was confirmation of a tornado touching down and there was so much flooding that several city buildings were flooded and a ton of computers and other things were destroyed. A street in Bath, where Lebron James' has his mansion, was so flooded that part of the street simply collapsed.

Supposed to be a light rain. It's not It's pouring down. With everything already drenched It's flooding again. Damn.

It is hot. Africa hot. Tarzan couldn't handle this heat. And there's fires. Fires everywhere. Heat and wind, no bueno. There are 4 or 5 fires in north San Diego and a BIG one on Camp Pendleton. They have the whole base on lockdown. People stuck at work.. Mess.

100+* ON the beach. Blasphemy.

Yeah, it's crazy down there. We just got wind & heat here. I don't mind the heat but when you mix in a little wind and zero humidity, it's a recipe for fire.
It's supposed to cool down Monday.
