Cup RACE thread --- 600

Well this stinks. Bummed they couldn’t try for tomorrow

Our sport has been entirely illegitimized.

My buddy is at this race. Damn shame he had to wait, soaked for 2 hours only for this to be called.

Wow, seriously? They don’t have anywhere to be. First time I’ve seen “high humidity” cited as a reason to give up drying.

Damn. it's only 8:50 I have to figure something else to do to kill time until I'm ready to go to sleep.:(

Apparently Hendrick’s deal with McLaren is for 2 years.

NASCAR, known for delaying days as far back as a Wednesday to get a race in just cut this short because?

This is strange.

I was critical of the decision, but I actually do feel bad for him. This day went absolutely nothing like he hoped it would. I do hope he gets the opportunity again and it works like it’s supposed to. Larson is a special talent who can shine in anything they put him in.
If he does do it next year he will have learned so much from it all. Easy threat to win.

Danica had those inserts removed. I got to hand it to those implant makers. They must have been in cahoots with the safer wall people. Those things didn't blow up after all of the wall plants, hitting cars, rollover crashes and even lasted thru that idiot quarterback she was dating.
I like het better the way the Lord made her.

1997 600
  • Date: May 25, 1997
  • Location: Charlotte Motor Speedway, Charlotte, North Carolina
  • Track: 1.5-mile (2.4 km) quad oval track
  • Number of laps: 333 (shortened from 400 due to a rain delay and a 1 a.m. curfew)

I got the DVR set until 3:30 am and my night cap on. Will get up about 5am to finish watching it all.
It's 1:19 a.m., and I'm back up to watch them finish, even if it's only on DVR. I just learned that they finally called the race, and Bell is the winner.

Sincere apologies to everyone affected by my decision. I should have known that NASCAR would be influenced by my actions and that it would lead to them losing any interest in completing the race once I made it my intention to call it a day.

Now I can't sleep, and I am traumatized by the Jeff Burton voices going off in my head " EVERY LAP MATTERS YOU SNOWFLAKE!
EVERY LAP MATTERS YOU SNOWFLAKE! ....

It just will not stop even after taking three doses of the Gerbitol. I started the race over on the DVR to watch the part I missed during the closing laps of the Indianapolis 500, hopefully it will get better.
