Cup RACE thread --- Chicago Street

I imagine the start time is dictated entirely by NBC. It’s a great event, but you’re playing with fire when you scheduled green for 4 PM local time. If this falls during the TNT portion of the season next year maybe they’ll have a different perspective.

Whoever is to blame is an absolute moron

If they had started two hours or so ago, I’d imagine this race would have been over already. The late start times that these networks are supposedly mandating are a detriment to the sport

Whats laughable Is every weatherman and forecast was at worst a 30% chance of rain and then this. And now Bell is talking about get the cars back on the track! Lets go!

It’s not just Chicago.

My city had between a 50% and 80% chance of rain throughout the day, but we haven’t seen a drop and it doesn’t look like we’re going to. For whatever reason, computers just haven’t been doing a great job at forecasting this year.

It’s a summer tradition for me; watching every rain cell or storm just go poof before it gets here.

If the rest of the race went without a caution, it would take about 90 minutes to run the remaining laps.

My weather person is pretty consistent at picking sunrise & sunset. Does that count?

We’ll get some more laps in but who knows how many.

Between the rain and impending 10 wrecks to follow we may get a fluke result.
