WNBA

Sign her up for the Chicago Bulls right now. Congrats to her, I’m not so much a fan of the WNBA as much as I’m a fan of her’s however I’ve followed the league as much as I have this year for the first time since I was a kid. Much respect to her and I hope she takes a loooooonnnnggg rest as she’s been playing since Iowa’s season ended in March.

What a shame that she was deprived of this being unanimous because of the Angel Reese cult.

Whoever did this should have their voting rights and credentials revoked.

All sports voting like this should be made public. Absolute coward. Angel was her equal for like first 2 months of season, then Caitlin really took off.

Assuming it’s the same person who voted Angel 4th in MVP voting, they should be fired out of a cannon. It shouldn’t mar what was a generational season, though. It’ll be the first of many, many accolades in her career.

Never heard that cannon line before. :lol2:

To each their own, but caring about the exact breakdown of how the sportswriters vote for these awards is brand new to me. That wasn’t really talked about when I was watching the NBA - or if it was, it was never anything I paid any attention to.

From where I'm sitting, it doesn't matter whether the players win these awards unanimously or by one vote. I'm not gonna remember what the margins were once all is said and done and the players in question have retired and become coaches, analysts, or whatever. For me, Caitlin's the ROTY, end of story. Nothing can diminish or take away from that.

As a great man once said...

It was a big deal when Curry became the first (and only, to date) unanimous MVP in 2016. It was a big deal last week when A’ja became the second unanimous MVP in the W…which is now peculiar in hindsight because I can make a better argument for Clark being unanimous ROTY than A’ja being unanimous MVP. Yeah, it doesn’t really matter, but it gives a nice historical context as to just how special/dominant a player’s season was. But we solider on.

Yeah, I don't think A'ja Wilson MVP should've been unanimous ... ESPECIALLY if Caitlin Clark's ROTY wasn't unanimous.

Agendas were at play and it shows.

Just in case it wasn't clear, I wasn't laughing at your post in its entirety, just at the cannon line, which I genuinely found funny. I respect your opinion, as always.

Again, to each their own. Obviously this is all subjective, and we each get to decide what matters to us. Years from now, I'm absolutely not going to remember whether Caitlin and A'ja won their respective awards unanimously, or by how many votes they won them. I'll just remember that they at some point won the awards.

But the record books will show that it was not unanimous. The point is also that the person that made the only vote for Reese should be barred from voting as it was blatantly prejudiced. It certainly does matter, forever and forever it will show that Clark was not selected by all voters.

Muggle, the exact breakdown of the ROTY vote clearly matters to you guys, not to me - and that's okay. We don't have to walk in lockstep. The record books will show that Caitlin, and no one else, is the 2024 WNBA ROTY. Let's do what FL alluded to and keep it moving.
