We usually have sufficient in the house for several days. We resupplied this morning.
Note the high on Wed will not break freezing so the white crud won't start melting until Thu.

Partisan gibberish aside, you are missing the point. A lib went to such lengths to protect a fellow lib that he implied that the lack of water had no effect on fighting the fires. He's wrong.
Reservoirs need maintenance. If you are California, you do that maintenance during what isn’t typically wildfire season and is typically rainy season. That's why you make AND FILL reservoirs.
Newscast week or so ago mentioned LA hasn't had measurable rainfall since April. Just a little dry.Reservoirs need maintenance. If you are California, you do that maintenance during what isn’t typically wildfire season and is typically rainy season.
And before you say they should’ve predicted this, a month ago they were saying NC would experience the warmest winter on record with very little chances of precipitation and were getting ready for the first winter storm we’ve had since I moved to the coast.
It worked in 1943 for awhile. Same thing is happening here.Cruelty is the point.
I have never denied the magnitude of the fire. Don't assume. What are you supposed to do in 100 mph winds???
You guys are so bent on blaming libs for everything that you can’t just admit this was a historic and unprecedented emergency.
How long was the reservoir drained and what was the maintenance needed?Reservoirs need maintenance. If you are California, you do that maintenance during what isn’t typically wildfire season and is typically rainy season.

Yes. After two years of above average rainfall. Enough to fill a reservoir for times when it is a little dry.Newscast week or so ago mentioned LA hasn't had measurable rainfall since April. Just a little dry.
Liner repairs to stop leaking. How long was the reservoir drained and what was the maintenance needed?
Why don't you find it and post it. You are the one who thinks it is so crucial. BTW they didn't run out of water. They were pulling so much at once they lost pressure in areas. Didn't you watch the president musk clip I posted? He is standing right there and the fire official were dropping tank trucks for the crews to use. There wasn't a water shortage. President musk had to shut his phone off because that wasn't what he wanted to hear. How long was the reservoir drained and what was the maintenance needed?
I don't think so. I have a buddy who lives in Arkansas, and this happened to him a couple of years ago. When the tornado's are flying, his closest weather people are about 90 miles away and they spend most of the time focused on that area, which is larger in population.Sounds like an opportunity for the other stations in those markets.
The Louisiana storm? As of two hours our local weather guys say they're getting up to 6"Looks like the big snowstorm is going to be a big bust. NWS now saying maybe up to a half inch.

I rarely look at any source other than NWS. They 'show the work', posting the forecaster's assessment of conditions and the thinking behind the predictions. They've been conservative all along and up until yesterday evening they refused to call the total accumulation at all. They said the modeling of the fronts and cells wasn't reliable enough, the incoming cold air too dry, and there wasn't sufficient off-shore force to move large amount of moisture inland. When they started predicting depths last night, it was never over 2".I'm in North Carolina.
They've gone from 8" to 1/2" over the weekend. Now some are even saying no precipitation this week at all, which I expect. We are in a drought.
But you never know with these things. It could surprise us all and dump a foot of snow. Not likely though.
Okay. Haven't followed that one. Is it dissipating or did it shift elsewhere?I'm in North Carolina.

The 6"-plus forecasts made days ago assumed the cold air and warm moisture were going to come together in the way most favorable for heavy snowfall. Now closer to the event, it's clearer the conditions aren't likely to cooperate.Okay. Haven't followed that one. Is it dissipating or did it shift elsewhere?
Whose forecast?Forecast says 5-8 inches for New Orleans. That’s gonna be a mess!
Whose forecast?
Whose forecast?
I've almost given up on them. Over the years their forecasts have become more apocalyptic. I guess screaming the sky is falling keeps people glued.I just looked at the weather channel.
How often does it snow down there? Gotta be super rare.Forecast says 5-8 inches for New Orleans. That’s gonna be a mess!
Like we did for years in Arkansas, wait for it to melt. Everything is going to be shut down for the most part.Something I never thought about until I heard on the radio is these southern states aren't equipped for dealing with snow. They don't have snowplows or snow shovels, etc. because they never needed them. What to do?
