2025 Rolex 24 at Daytona

Farfus doing Farfus things…guy was doing stuff like that in touring cars twenty years ago.

2 hours to go. Time to dot the i's and cross the t's.

Penskes clamp is ratcheting up to a 1000#'s per square inch.
This really is a perfect time for this caution.

Is it really possible Colin Braun is 36? I was there for his first race at 16 yrs old.

It’s slowly becoming that way at Le Mans as well, and there’s a lot more room for safety vehicle intervention there. Daytona is a tricky place to find gaps for safety workers to attend to incidents. Is it “pure”…probably not. Is it safer and does it keep things more interesting for most people…yes. Competitors seem to enjoy it so I don’t foresee a process change anytime soon.

The cautions can be a bit drawn out, but that’ll happen when you have wave arounds, split pit procedure, and class split.
I get why people enjoy it. Bunching up the field means it'll get less drawn out and there will be more wheel-to-wheel battles.

For me it kinda changes the character of the race from a 24-hour-race to a series of sprints.

I wasn't a fan of the rule change at Le Mans but unlike IMSA they make a difference between full course yellow and a safety car.
Unless there is a huge multi-car wreck it sure would be possible to just let the cars circle at minimum speed.

Porsche & Penske - they are the standard. As good as it gets.

First win for the new Mustang. First win for the new Z06 as well - in privateer hands, no less. Awesome stuff.

Bring on Bathurst next week.
