2025 Rolex 24 at Daytona

Blind corner + choke point = big incident when someone comes back up the track. Yikes, that took out contenders from three different classes.

Looks like a combination of cold tires and dirty stuff on track for Deletraz. Van der Zande had a big snap too.

On another note, Peacock doesn’t limit promos to new customers only. If they’re doing a free month promotion or a holiday sale, it’s available to everyone.

I usually get 3-6 months of peacock free each year which makes paying $7 less of a sting.

The streaming **** sucks but Peacock and Fox’s Tubi (which is free) are fine.

It's not technically a spec class but they're in the ninth year of the current regulations and one chassis just turned out to be superior to the three others.
There are a bunch of notable drivers in LMP2 cars in this one including Herta, Pietro l Bourdais, Sowery and Felipe Massa.
Thanks for the information. Makes sense if that’s the case but kinda kills it for me when there is no variety.

It started out with four chassis options but everyone pretty swiftly moved to the ORECA once it was apparent it was the best overall package. So it effectively is a spec chassis/engine category now. It also has a bronze mandate where each car includes a gentleman driver, who typically funds the entry themselves.

That said, each entry also has a couple of pro drivers, a number of which are IndyCar guys or factory guys who didn’t otherwise have an obligation or opportunity this weekend - Colton Herta is in there and there’s also representation from Cadillac, Alpine, Ferrari, and Peugeot WEC Hypercar drivers.
That’s interesting. So each team is funded by a wealthy driver who gets to be part of the rotation with professionals? Talk about a wild card.

Yes, often (but not always) one of the pros is the Am’s personal driver coach with whom they have a strong relationship with. A number of them get to be pretty respectable over time, Ben Keating being a pretty popular one.

It’s always a great show, tonight was no exception.

I’d encourage anyone to go if they get the opportunity. It’s a fun and relaxed atmosphere regardless of whether you’re a hard core or casual sports car fan. The access and value is second to none among major championships, imo. It only gets bigger and better each year. It’s wild to see the lots across the street I use to park for free and sleep in overnight during college become packed $60 paid lots today.

Could’ve been worse for Vesti. Not many “good” places to have a sudden suspension failure here. Fortunately these cars are awfully safe.
