The new upcoming NASCAR game is very promising

Folks, we're getting a masterpiece.

I hope you are right. I am going to lurk a while and see how it goes.

If it is great I will buy a console, plus a sim rig and go for it. I dont want to spend much more than a thousand bucks so I would probably build the frame myself to leave some money for a seat, wheel and brakes.

I just want to be sure before committing.

NASCAR 25 is being developed by the folks at iRacing. From the footage I've seen, looks like they nailed it.

Maybe we can start a Racing-Forums league or something.

It is probably fine. I want to learn more about what it can do and learn some of the questions for dummies stuff. I was hoping it would have a modified series or more short track stuff.

I also am not in a supper hurry. I am probably thinkimg a Christmas time or early 2026 time frame

I'm 50/50 on buying this game. It looks good, but I have high blood pressure, and racing games raise it just as much or more than fighting games do, purely from excitement/fun. If my BP came back down quickly after playing them, it wouldn't be an issue, but it usually takes a while, and usually too long IMO.

I've watched a few YouTube videos of various streamers' gameplay footage and will likely buy the game at some point. It indeed looks promising, but I'm like Greg and am in no rush. I'll wait for reviews and for the masses to get their hands on it, just to make sure there are no massive deal-breaking issues.

Worst case, I'll just play it like I play Street Fighter 6 and other high-octane games these days - in strict moderation.

Having now watched a bunch of YouTubers' gameplay videos, barring any major unforeseen issues between now and the early access release date, October 11th, I'm probably gonna preorder this game.

The most important thing to me with a racing game is the actual driving/racing. While I obviously haven't played this one yet, the most consistent positive thing I've heard so far from people who have actually played it is that they really, really like the driving physics. I've also heard that the AI cars are not brick walls that are completely unaware of the player's presence like in Ignition. I'm sold based off of those two things alone.

The only cons I've heard so far are regarding IMO small bells and whistles that are missing. There are supposedly no burnouts or caution replays, and you can't adjust the car mid-race.
