Folks, we're getting a masterpiece.
NASCAR 25 is being developed by the folks at iRacing. From the footage I've seen, looks like they nailed it.I hope you are right. I am going to lurk a while and see how it goes.
If it is great I will buy a console, plus a sim rig and go for it. I dont want to spend much more than a thousand bucks so I would probably build the frame myself to leave some money for a seat, wheel and brakes.
I just want to be sure before committing.
It is probably fine. I want to learn more about what it can do and learn some of the questions for dummies stuff. I was hoping it would have a modified series or more short track stuff.NASCAR 25 is being developed by the folks at iRacing. From the footage I've seen, looks like they nailed it.
Maybe we can start a Racing-Forums league or something.
I'm getting it in a few days for the PS5, hopefully the Gold Edition.Anyone who's even remotely interested in a NASCAR video game that isn't a full sim like iRacing should buy NASCAR 25. Don't even hesitate. Just buy it. I haven't even finished my first race yet as Blaney at Gateway, and I already love it.
I finished the first season in career in Arca and did my first truck race. Ty Majeski wasnt a fan....and just that quickly, I think I've found something on the restarts. It was mostly a skill/knowledge issue. I don't think the patch affected it.
I was under the impression that since you can't just fully mash the gas coming off of pit road with cold tires, you can't mash it on starts/restarts. Every track may be different, but at least at Kansas, you can just hold the gas pedal down fully on starts/restarts.
The AI is still a bit OP on starts/restarts, but as long as I try to stay in front of my line and pinch the opposite line a bit, I don't lose 5 or 6 spots like I was before. I actually have a fighting chance. I can live with that.
I figured I would like NASCAR 25 and was feeling positive about it going in, but even I didn't expect to like it this much. The driving/racing is fantastic.I finished the first season in career in Arca and did my first truck race. Ty Majeski wasnt a fan.
Honestly, if I was gonna go the gaming PC/full sim rig route, I wouldn't even bother with a simcade game like NASCAR 25. I would grab myself an iRacing subscription or the venerable old NASCAR Racing 2003 Season sim with mods for the current cars/tracks and call it a day.I have never been a gamer, but I am leaning toward going all out with a gaming PC, a strong sim rig with a Moza wheel and pedals. Hopefully enough to be one-time buys without wanting an upgrade in another year or two.
I want the force feedback stuff and to go beyond a simple controller, so my current plan is to wait until the NASCAR 25 PC version is available.
Here is my question: I will need a gaming PC and will buy one that is capable.
But I will not be using some crazy three-screen setup. It will probably be something simple close to a 40-inch screen.
I want a PC that will do the job and perform well, but I don't think I will need every bell and whistle; the games I see myself playing in the future will all be racing sim stuff.
Any PC advice or recommendations will be appreciated.

You can find a used copy in disc form selling for a crazy amount on Amazon or roll the dice with a cheaper used disc on eBay. You can also try to download it from somewhere, but I'm not encouraging you to do that, becauseWhere could I find Nascar 2003?

I just started iRacing about 2 months ago and I’m having SO. MUCH. FUN. Granted, it also comes with A LOT of frustration too. I quickly realized I have soooo so so much to learn.I have never been a gamer, but I am leaning toward going all out with a gaming PC, a strong sim rig with a Moza wheel and pedals. Some kind of code, I assume, but if so, I wouldn't know what it's for. The last OG Papyrus/Sierra NASCAR sim I played was NASCAR Racing 2 in 1996. All the other NASCAR games I've played since then have been on console.RAB2-RAB2-RAB2-RAB2-8869
What's that again?

I started with a Moza R5 wheel and pedal set. I’ll be getting a full rig at some point in the distant future. I just sold my house and renting an apartment while looking for our next house... I say that to say if I come home with a full sim rig setup my fiancé might murder me.
Because it's not quite 2026 yet, and the game is based on the 2025 season.Stupid question from a non-gamer:
Why would they name it NASCAR 25 when it's almost '26?
Ah. I thought they might use the next year's number, like car model years. Thanks.the game is based on the 2025 season
It’s a song. Written in like a kind of text version of Morse code. Some kind of code, I assume, but if so, I wouldn't know what it's for. The last OG Papyrus/Sierra NASCAR sim I played was NASCAR Racing 2 in 1996. All the other NASCAR games I've played since then have been on console.

Yessir! I'm also using a controller, and I think ARCA might be my favorite series in the game right now, which is funny, because when I first got the game, I figured I would like ARCA the least. The Cup cars are fun for me on the bigger tracks, and I like the Trucks at most tracks, but man, I enjoy those ARCA cars everywhere.I’m only on a controller (PS5) but the throttle modulation and tire management required on the short tracks is so damn fun. ARCA races at places like IRP, North Wilkesboro, Bristol have been awesome. I’ve never had the fortune of doing iRacing so getting to learn just how weird NWB handles was really cool.
I can't wait to try the Trucks, always fun to drive those.Yessir! I didn't like short tracks much in this game until I got more comfortable running Richmond in the ARCA cars tonight. Like you alluded to, they're so much fun once you start getting the hang of them. I love throwing those things around, and I love the way they sound, too.![]()
Yeah, before I learned to just mash the gas on restarts, I was playing with the throttle overshoot value and did feel like I had somewhat better restarts when I raised it to 100. I'm back to just running with the default Normal settings for now, which have it set to 50. Only the Cup guys have occasionally given me serious problems depending on the track. I haven't been doing much Cup racing lately and have been generally managing fine on restarts in ARCA and the Trucks. Also for you guys having trouble on short tracks etc, the custom controller settings help a LOT. I can’t remember what settings I’m using right now, but google has some good ones that are pretty quick to find. The only fix for the restart issue I’ve found is changing the overshoot setting to 100 or close.
