Storage building

So far haven't located any of the D type adjuster wheels. Possibly JB Weld will work? Moved the lighted magnifying glass to the shed. Once get some shelves built in the house will buy another. Main thing used it for is reading cooking directions on packaging. They've lost their minds with the super-mini print now.

So far did absolutely nothing today. Quite possible will continue that path. Feel fine. Just don't want to go outside where the "work" is waiting. Really have to clean off that darned wooden shelf so can move the extra shingles over to clear floor space.

Reassembled the $20 Delta jobsite saw...well mostly. It had some of the wiring hacked up to bypass the breaker. Problem with these saws is, getting the plastic box back on that covers the wiring and provides strain relief sucks. Unfortunately the wiring uses spade terminals and needs 90* connectors. Ones I have the plastic shell of connector is hard as cast iron. No idea how you'd crimp them. Tried to put cover on with straight spades on switch and that won't work. Did finally get the one adjuster knob/wheel figured-out. The bevel adjuster lever has splines like a motorcycle shifter. Has a spring that engages it so can move the lever in different positions. Unfortunately (that werd has an N I keep forgetting) the splines are worn out. When tightened it just clamps onto the plastic housing slot. Really simple. Or basic. Or junk depending on ur view. If can find a metric long nut could use a wrench to tighten. Details. Wasting time is what I'm doing...

Glued the armature for the other Dewalt. Need to design a way to hold it so can spin it for machining the commutator without losing fingers. Has metal fan on on the end. Be an excellent meat grinder. Can stick one end/bearing in the vise gently...need way to support other end. If had a hole saw could fabricobble something out of 2x4's that would be pretty safe. Still thinking about it. About to go close everything up. Think I'm done.

And nope. Didn't clean off the shelves or move the shingles. Kinda like to get the saws together so easier to move and so have the bench clear. I like having a bench. Need to sort thru the shelf stuff. Bench allows me to lay it out. Maybe organize that junk into good junk/limbo junk/junk.

Most of it is limbo junk. I know it. You know it. Everybody knows it.

Knob/wheel has 10mm hex head bolt. The washer/cup under bolt is thin as paper so when tightened the washer deformed and almost entirely covered the bolt head. Finally grabbed it with vise grips and got it out. The knob/wheel goes on the shaft full inch. It'll work fine when tightened properly. But did find different style hand wheel is available if get desperate.

The original saw I bought is junk. Did everything I could to resurrect the armature but no bueano. Lots of sparks and flame again. Good possibility that box of 8 dollar brushes are flints. Make great sparklers! It ran maybe 15 seconds and ramped up to about 18K RPM. She was a screaming! Had no blade on it so maybe needs that weight to keep from running off? IDK.

Will pull motor from 20 dollar saw and see if can get it to fit in the larger one. That's why bought it.

Shoved the corpse of the saw in the corner and covered it with a folding bench so could clean the wood shelf off. At some point need to load the transmission parts on truck and sell as junk. It all got drowned and is rusty. Did get some organization accomplished. Think next step is to throw everything out of the loft and sort it. Move some of the spare OSB to make more storage surface. Mainly get everything spread out so one 2x4 failing won't kill me.

Once get loft space sorted stuff several totes up thar! Get all the lumber along the edges/closer to the walls. Guess nothing is going to get painted. Just can't bring myself to do it. At some point take the rest of the limbo junk off porch and decide whether to leave a plastic shelf there or jam it in the shed. Hmmmm? Need storage/stacking place in house. Could take the porch shelves to the bedroom. At some point need to take inversion table, which haven't used in months, to the shed. That would allow access to the closet so could actually use it.

Fried some hamburgers last evening. Made the patties waaay too thick. Made 4 when should have made 6. Have absolutely zero flavor. Cheese, pickles and mustard? Can't taste anything.

Need a hanger for the extension cords. Also have a 50 foot hose need to store. Have a metal bracket for the hose, now just need to find a place to put that. Used to be just inside door where now have plastic shelving. Turned the shelving 90* and may put it back way, remount hose bracket. Need to sand that white steel cabinet the drill press is on or make myself throw it away. It's pretty rough. Also need to get new belt for the drill press and see if it actually works. It was another 25 dollar purchase from Marketplace. Had for year or so. Need to decide how to store the carpentry clamps.

Moved junk & shelf from porch to shed. That didn't gain anything except with the table saw positioned in way I thought made sense had room to run 6.5 foot long side door thru it. Just trimmed the edge. I'd previously screwed it up badly trying to trim in with it hanging on the shed with circular saw and no guide. Probably just replace one 2x4 of the door and move it over 1/4" like should have done first time.

Table saw motor turns really free. So free takes close to 2 minutes to stop spinning after a cut. Modern stuff has some sort of brake built in. Removed the miter saw from bench which I do every winter. Just 4 lag bolts. I'll eventually carry it to shed so stays dry.

Going on 3 hour voyage tomorrow morning to just West of Richmond Va for part of a table saw fence. Yes...part of. Will need to buy a couple 6 foot sections of 3" angle iron and one of 2x3 box tubing. It's a Biesemeyer type. I'm struggling to remember the name. Has three words. Like FastoolsUSA or something like that. (that's NOT the name)

It's located in Goochland Va. Never heard of Goochland. Meeting at Food Lion which is my prefered spot for a drug...uhhhh...I mean tool purchase deal.

This is the company I am thinking of but what I found is a very early version. Steel t-square with cam-lock handle. Be easy enough to stick a piece of aluminum slotted track on the side to make easy to attach **** you don't really need.

Believe this is one of the original version of this design. Very nice. Newer versions are $500 +.

If I had that kind of money to waste just get the newer clone version from Delta.

Found a YouTube video where guy had table saw that gott z the sickness. It would not JUST run slow but also backwards. Finally determined speed control board was defective. 60ish bucks. The purpose of that board, in my understanding, is to control the speed. Who woulda thunk it?😉 That board apparently allows the current flow to be reversed to slow the blade. Again...who woulda thunk it!🥰 My new/old Craftsman runs like it's Turbocharged but doesn't stop for 27 minutes after you turn the switch off. Ok...27 might be an exaggeration. Sew...thinking no reason couldn't cobble one of those boards into the wiring of my saw and MAKE IT STOP!😃 Must find ways to spend money I don't have on things I don't need!😂

Might be going after ANOTHER table saw. Goldsboro. It's built into a steel table and has a Biesemeyer fence. The gasoline used will cost more than guy is asking for the saw! I'm hoping he didn't screw up the ad price but afraid to ask. I'll ask if he says to come get it.

In searching for the fence mounting hardware which is two sticks of angle iron and one of 2x3 box tubing plus bolts and nuts, stumbled onto a website that claims to be able to sell the complete fence system...everything...for 63 bucks. The mounting kits I'd found were in the $150ish area.

They saying WHOLE assembly, fence & all hardware, for $63ish. Same thing that's nearly $300 on Amazon.

Call me suspicious. Seems like a data acquisition scam to me. They do take PayPal but I've never had much luck getting any money back thru them. So...nah.

Ain't gonna happen. Put stuff in truck to go to Lowe's. Nope. Down to 14 bucks in bank account & can't make myself leave the house. Intended to take all three nail guns to pawn shop but just can't force myself to do it. Would pick them up after first of the month.

It's freaking 74 degrees. Perfect weather to get this done before the cold hits. Just can't get on my feet.

What is going to happen in spring is wearing on me. March/April is gonna be beyond ugly. Not talking about the weather folks. The foundation of our society is about to fracture. Permanently. Won't be good for anyone except the billionaires.

Never knew you thin acrylic paint with water. I know virtually nothing about house paint and basically same about any others. Considered buying a sprayer while back. Never pulled the trigger but now since thinning costs nothing, will purchase at some point. Great thing about the Carolina's is the weather. Might be 70 degrees for most of January. Might be sub 20 but fairly unlikely. If get sprayer could make something happen fairly quickly. Of course already bought couple different sizes of rollers and couple small brushes. Maybe 20ish bucks? Planned to build some shelves & possibly cabinets. Also reason for the recent table saw obsession. Good chance will spend 100 bucks on the guide rails for the "new" fence I bought for 10 bucks. Plan to build a bench with saw incorporated. Possibly even put the miter saw in that bench too. Make it so it rolls over and hangs under the top surface. Need some 8 foot 2x4's so have some stuff to work with.

Did take nail guns to pawn shop. Sold the roofing nailer for $40. Pawned the other two for $60. Will pick them up next week. Deposited $40 in bank so nothing will bounce. It would have been really close without the deposit. Probably put some gas in truck tomorrow as low fuel light came on. That means have 3ish gallons and don't like running it that low as hard on fuel pump. May go to Durham tomorrow and pick-up something.
