@jeff_gluck

500 front row: Top lane or bottom for @AustinDillon3? He says he's "not positive yet, but thinking top." That would mean Kenseth moves up.
hate to break it to Gluck, but Kenseth is going to be on the front row regardless.

All the hype about making the race and the only even slightly surprising DNQ was Ryan Truex.

He finished like 18th and they were saying he was on the bubble last night? I couldn't figure out that one. I saw today that he didn't make it. I don't have much for Ryan, don't think he is going anywhere but out. He hasn't done much in any of the series except K&N, in Nationwide, 35 races he is win less with a couple of top 5's.

Not even a minute in and this knockout qualifying is already more interesting than single-car qualifying.

I kind of wish Denny was racing in Nationwide and trucks just to see if he could win all 5 races.

I'm pretty sure Kenseth only moves up if Austin chooses the outside as a starting spot because Kenseth is on the inside line. In that event the entire inside line would move up a position. If Austin stays on the inside then the outside line should move up. They don't all switch sides.

yeah that could be. If that is so, then Hamlin would be on the front row, I can't find any ruling on it.

We will all find out in either event. One of the two sitting in 3rd and 4th will be up on that front row alongside Dillon after Truex drops to the back.. Doesn't seem fair but I guess it is easier for timing/scoring than having all of the cars shuffle around on the track after the initial line up. Truex will be up there for a lap or two before dropping back.

I forget it is Nascar. All the other top series would move the third place car into second position, and they would also be running in the rain...but that is a whole different animal.
