2014 Fontana - Auto Club 400 - Pre Race Thread

Yes, we'll be there Saturday around 8am. Sunday, we get on the train at 7am and get to the track in about an hour and a half (with all the other stops.)
You take your grill with you and cook on the way to the track????:eatpointe

We'll grill on Saturday. Sunday, well, that's a different story. King Taco!!!
Or, we could change our mind and bring the motorhome both days. Sunday traffic is brutal on the highway, though. I have next week off anyway so I don't care when I get home. :D

Tell me more about this King Taco. I've never seen one.

I am not looking forward to the Sunday Crush on Sunday afternoon but it'll be worth it.

King Taco has a stand outside, right about inline with the start/finish line. Great tacos and burritos. I love the tangy "hot" sauce. If you don't like spicy then get the mild sauce, if you like hot then it's really good and it'll clear out your sinuses. :D

In practice 16th, qualified 22nd.

This race will give you ample passing areas. Run your own race, DP

With the way the RPM cars are running, I'm beginning to wonder if they'll make it to victory lane before JGR ;)

Seems it doesn't matter where they qualify.. the 22 always gets that 2nd pit box.. unless theyre on pole lol
Maybe all those pole positions are why his average finish is 2 places lower than his average starting spot :)

Is that this year? He actually does have a nice amount of poles for how young he is.. 9 or 10 I think .. Kenseth only has 12... Bowyer has 1 lol.

I expect him to finish ahead of his starting spot this weekend.. hopefully by 6 :)

It looks like Joey and Brad up each others game at different tracks.

Soon enough they'll be 1-2 every week :D

Ilove the way these guys are working together. IMO Theyre probably the closest, most tight knit team mates in all of NASCAR right now and its paying off.

They're off to a hell of a start. I wonder if it's all chemistry or Penske found something. Now they just need to start winning these things.

If pole positions are that important, what do you think should happen on Sunday? :)

Gordon has an exiting gap, great! Hoping to not have a pit road incident like last week.

Heard on NASCAR seriusXM that it is nearly a sell out as of Monday. I also noticed they removed the tarp covering seats towards turn one. Last years race helps this alot.

Such good racing so far this season with the changes to the cars and drivers really going for it.

I see good things in NASCARs future

Are you insinuating that NASCAR did something right?

Safer wall coming out of 4 is a big improvement.
There's a new Von's market in the infield :)
Truex, unloading the back up car...

I'm surprised with Gordon's speed so far this weekend.

I expect Harvick to win if his car holds up for the whole race.
