2017 Texas - O'Reilly Auto Parts 500 - Pre Race Thread

Im sure folks are just itching to sit out in 90 degree weather for 4.5 hours on Sunday. Day race at Texas lol what the hell

Why?

I've always preferred day racing. I don't have to kill as much time waiting for the race to start, and there's a better chance I can get home afterward without needing a hotel room.

Ever since I was a kid I have liked all sporting events better at night. I like the way the cars l look under the lights, the temperature is usually a lot more comfortable at night and you don't have the sun in your eyes half of the day. Yesterday at the Long Beach Grand Prix it was pretty comfortable in the morning with the overcast sky but as the day went on it was harder to see and my face is still warm from looking into the sun all afternoon. That being said I still had an awesome time and probably should start getting ready to head back there in about an hour.:)

Because Pete Pistone has been bitching about night racing on NASCAR Radio for 6 months.
 
Got some Toyotas to the top in 10 lap averages....Hmmmm....Gonna be fun. What kind of speed does Ford have?
 
So upset they're going up against the Masters tomorrow. I don't understand why you would schedule the same time as one of the biggest annual sporting events in the South

I really don't have a problem with sitting in 90 degree weather....... or even hotter than that... folks always bitched about Darlington on Labor Day.... I never minded it.... but again.... I'm not an office worker that is lilly white... I can understand they might get a sunburn or heat stroke....

I can certainly do it. I subject myself to worse than that most summer weekends here in SC. Heck, if it's only 90 at Darlington this Labor Day, I'll be grateful.

Just because I can to it doesn't mean I wouldn't prefer it to be 75 and partly cloudy. :D I question the veracity or the sanity of anyone who says they wouldn't too.
 
Another race day is here! After seeing the Xfinity , we might be in store
for a green ish race with moments of intrigue. I will probably monitor Nascar on a laptop and golf on
the big screen.

I have had enough walking and sitting in the sun this week, so I gave my ticket, pit pass, and parking pass for the Long Beach Grand Prix away last night and I'm going to sit at home in my big comfortable chair with a BIG box of buttered:lurk: and watch the Texas race and the Grand Prix on tv. Damn! I'm getting so old I can't even handle 3 days in a row of fun anymore.:)
