Unfortunately, the 'stars' are often the people the fans and marketers declare to be stars. This declaration may not have anything to do with performance, and may completely ignore those who are actually outperforming the 'stars'.

If qualifying is rained out, who gets sent home early? The 99 trails in owner points, just 9 points from four races entered. Landon Cassill has usually driven the 00, not the 99, so I guess a pay driver is in the 00 this week and would have the charter guaranteed slot.

The 62 entered for Brendan Gaughan has just two previous attempts, but I don't think attempts count any longer?? Anyone know?

So yes you are correct, the 99 would be odd man out.

Bowman sat on the pole for the 500. Chevy and HMS in particular have always had speed on the plate tracks. Camero or no Camero.
