Found his platform? WTF. He came off looking like he needed to sign up to Dr Phil for long term care...Or what part of Penske did you not understand?
Well that's my point man. Is using social media to express this perpetual sense of being victimized that he thinks he's experiencing. And he's getting validation for it, or at the very least, seeking out validation but it's become like clockwork.

Ty Dillon made a video recently about his own mental health and depression and future as a cup driver. Once. Expressed himself. Once. Moved on. Matt is using these videos as a sort of journal. I agree. He's only hurting himself here, and given the circumstance of being released, it makes him look a bit pathetic.

And as I said, I think he's killing his chances by doing this.

This is the equivalent of ranting on Facebook about being laid off, except, all your potential future employers can see it.

They lost me when they said "3 parts" is Brad running day to day as well as driving? They may have said that I am in between clients at the moment so my comprehension wasnt very good ( not that it ever is). Is Brad bringing sponsors with him or is he using what Roush already has? I thought they also said theres an option for Newman to run part time.
 
Talk about someone who has constantly made bad choices for the last 20 years. I don't see that getting better and I think Kez just dug him a hole to get sheared in. Kez by himself won't be able to pull that pig out of the mud.
It's hard to say. If Brad has total control of day to day and can bring his own people in they got a shot to turn it around, I give Brad credit for running a successful truck team for a number of years. If Brad is a figure head and its a ceremonious ownership stake ( Like Green Bay Packers "shareholders") and Jack/Fenway is still doing the majority of the decision making well...... I think its proven that combo isnt working too well.

If Brad has total control of day to day and can bring his own people in they got a shot to turn it around, I give Brad credit for running a successful truck team for a number of years. That is one who has little if any say for the money he has invested. Has the team got any better since Jack got bought by Fenway? hail no. They needed more money so along comes Keselowski

I expected to see a link to a web site with a list of open positions. They could wind up with a ton of resumes to filter through from people with skills they aren't seeking.

There was a 2022 option on his contract, so not exactly. That option kept him from talking to other teams.

Also, please tell me when Paul Menard won for Wood Brothers.
 
I don't know if this is fanfaring. I think he's just an emotional guy, and he's found this platform where he gets to express himself and get validation.

But the hype around him potentially winning someday, and landing a winning ride has worn off. The 21 WAS the ride. It didn't pan out, and they are moving on.

Beyond the fanfaring, he's become a perpetual victim. I don't think presenting himself that way is going to help him.

I feel for him, I do. But how many team owners do you think see this, and go "this ****** guy" ?

Can somebody explain the difference between Matt and Daniel Suarez? How about Reddick? He's been in a similar quality ride for the exact same amount of time as Matt, and are the the results that much different? How about Bubba? Ryan Preece? Stenhouse? With the exception of Reddick, I'd dump every one of those guys in a New York minute to put Matt in my car, and I actually LIKE all the other guys, other than I have NEVER been sold on Stenhouse as a Cup driver. (Not getting bullied into marrying Danica gave me a whole new level of respect for him as a person though). I get that Matt knew Cindric was coming in for 2022, but once Kez decided to leave, why WOULDN'T Matt think he had at least a shot at keeping the 21 ride? There was no obvious choice waiting in the wings for that car, and the whole Burton thing seems like a Hail Mary from the end zone, that I would think Matt NEVER saw that one coming. Does everyone forget that he made the playoffs last year, and not with some "lucky" win, but on points? How many of these other guys have EVER done that?

More like Kez's swan song as far as I am concerned. He ain't no Roger Penske when it comes to turning around a business. So he gets pissed because Penske only gives him a year contract and probably for less than Kez thinks he is worth, so he goes out and BUYS a ride with these guys?

The reference was to 2024 Presidential Candidate Ryan Blaney.

I forgot all about Paul Menard which I think is understandable. Mediocrity can do that.

He's been in a similar quality ride for the exact same amount of time as Matt, and are the the results that much different? How about Bubba? Ryan Preece? Stenhouse? With the exception of Reddick, I'd dump every one of those guys in a New York minute to put Matt in my car, and I actually LIKE all the other guys, other than I have NEVER been sold on Stenhouse as a Cup driver. (Not getting bullied into marrying Danica gave me a whole new level of respect for him as a person though). huh? when did this become a comparison? Menard wanted him in the car and they sponsored it...it's a Penske car managed by the Wood Brothers. Penske signed him for a year and it was widely reported that it was for a YEAR only

If anyone with a brain looks at his results compared to “safe” winless drivers today regarding how hot their seat is, it’s mind boggling as to why he got the boot.

Penske is gonna lose out on that affiliate car, IMO.

I never said anything in my post about Brad poaching people and talent from Penske. I think we would agree Brad has been around long enough to have his own contacts outside Roger and thats what I meant by bringing his own people in. He did run a truck team for a number of years, so wouldnt you agree he could network on that? I know what a minority owner is thank you, I am one myself... but what do I know. Real life and Racing Forums.com experts/life coaches is a whole different wave length, I very well maybe punching above my weight here.

Based on his stats, the all mighty dollar played a much bigger role IMO. Dex Imaging is stuck with Harrison Burton who also has ties to IMS - which Penske owns. Matt doesn’t have the sponsor pull that the Burtons do.

It’ll all work out in the end, and personally I would love to see Matt finish out the season with a ton more top 10s and maybe some more top 5s.

I would take Reddick long before I take DiBenedetto. He’s a great driver and try as he might, I don’t think Childress can keep him wrapped around his finger for much longer. He will be far more valuable than what Richard can offer. As far as the others, I think Suarez is probably on the same level as Matt. Bubba really has some work to do.
 
Continue his on track success? Kenseth where are ya. At least he didn't have to pay to play and they promised him a managerial position to work into...he bailed. Maybe the new car will save his ass. One can hope

You're changing the goal posts. If his program failed or not is irrelevant to our discussion, I said he'd bring in some of his own people due to networking and having his own contacts from running his own team and his years in the sport, you said no. I fail to see how your statement is relevant here. I really have a hard time believing Brad would take a such a step down from the 2 into the Roush equipment without reassurances that he could do some of his own things like bring his own people or something of that nature. If he didnt and this is just a ceremonious deal to drive the 6, then thats a terrible terrible deal for him as Roush has shown zero that its going to be competitive on its own in the near future

When is the last time you saw a Roush Ford car dominating the competition...on the cutting edge of technology, or any indication they were spending any money to leap frog their lot in life? Ya know, making those moves that make a person say wow? Something along the lines of what Suarez and his bunch are doing hitting abouve their weight class. How about never. I don't see it anyway. Doesn't matter if Fenway has gobs of money..those kinds usually hoard it and are tight fisted just like Jack the multiple plane wrecks Roush. Now they say they have a company...but no details. ha ha ok.

Bubba is on a team with almost unlimited money, and he had to crawl home on fumes to even get a damn top 10 in half a season. It's probably true that some like Matt too much based on personality, but I think some also hate him too much because of his personality and it's clouding the reality of what's actually going on on the race track. Yes, Roger is brilliant, but that doesn't mean he doesn't misfire once in awhile or do things for business reasons more than simple on track performance.

I have no idea what Brad's deal looks like, or what his plan is, but if he actually thinks he's going to turn that train wreck around just by his presence alone, I feel he is going to be VERY disappointed. Look at what Rick Hendrick did to rebuild a team that wasn't 1/3 as bad off. I think the world of Jimmy Fennig, but perhaps it's time for him and some of the other Roush people to be put out to pasture and bring in some new blood. I know from talking to people twenty years ago that Roush was not most crew peoples dream destination. Maybe Brad can change the culture and make it more desirable for people to really WANT to go there. After having been exposed to the Hendrick and Penske culture, I would think he would have some insight into that. Maybe with the downsizing of the big teams coming later this year, maybe it will be an opportunity to pick up some good young talent in the free agent market.
