2026 Weather

20 below zero here in Weyburn, Saskatchewan right now. To get down to -32 by the time I start driving again in the morning. And yes, that's Fahrenheit!

Only thing my neighborhood has gotten is either a cold or the flu. Headache, dripping nose, temp of 99.9 which is couple degrees above my usual on my temperature checker dealio. Don't feel sick exactly but the nose drip is getting annoying.

Going to try to drag the recliner into the kitchen beside the stacked washer dryer. My 40 foot mobile home is surrounded by 80 foot pine trees. I figure the washer/dryer probably has more vertical/crush strength than this 70ish model trailer. This may testicle the shed roof as it's maybe 12 feet from the trees. Oh well. It's just boards.

You aren't on your daily blog. This is the weather page.

WRAL has moderated their IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD coverage some. Saying Raleigh maybe get 1/2" of icing . Big maybe. The bad news is the predicted temperatures in the teens all week after and a second storm coming next weekend. Hope the propane will last till the 3d. Fully expecting some power outages. Great having the emergency propane heat. Think will boil dozen eggs. Love them. Worst case put some of the food on the porch to keep cold.

Edit: temps are wrong. Teens for lows. 30ish during day.

In fairness, there's a lot of dry air and it's going to be 60-something degrees on the coast and that warm air is going to mix in and reduce the ice threat.

New shed, new thread.

True Story: Years ago my previous employer anticipated an upcoming snow storm and set up paid reservations at a nearby hotel for anyone volentering to be available. It was a good deal for all because umplanned shutdowns were very costly.

But there was this one guy who took one of the paid-for rooms and still didn't show up for work at 6 a.m. as expected.

He nonchalantly showed up shortly after 11 a.m. which was too late to avoid shutting down one of the lines. His explanation was that the hotel checkout time was scheduled for 11 a.m.

Picture I took of 'ice fog' just west of Saskatoon this morning. Temp was right around -34 degrees. Ice fog doesn't fall down and settle on the roadway. It just stays suspended in the air but can be real difficult to navigate at times. Most times you ride underneath it but today I was driving right through it. It has to be extremely cold for it to form. It's not the same as freezing fog. That freezes onto your vehicle and the roadway as you drive through it.
