Right, because during that era they always had the highest car counts.....and Chevy won 13 consecutive Manufacturers Titles......
Sorry Toyota couldn't win before Toyota even entered the races.

Oversized engine that wasn't even close? It was found to be .17 cubic inch/2.876 cc oversized.Because the appeal process works. Carl Long ran an oversized engine that wasnt even close.
Fine I admit it I'm the co-owner/driver of HaMur Down RacingInteresting that NASCAR is gonna "let them" run the Gen7a stubs/bumpers/suspension(???) at the Coliseum. I guess since they contracted their construction, they own them (NASCAR). I DID ask a top CC how many cars they had ready to go week or so ago...he said ONE. Now it's quite possible he's trolling me. I'd bet all the teams have members here.
Nah, he is just setting up his usual rant like he has done with every change to the cars over the yearsKFB spun. Has he lost a step?
MAX tolerance is 358. Read again.MAX. It wasnt close and even Long didnt appeal the engine size only that he got it 3rd party and shouldnt be responsibleOversized engine that wasn't even close? It was found to be .17 cubic inch/2.876 cc oversized.
On a 5,866.569 cc max displacement, his engine was less than 3 cc over.
Funny that was JGR's excuse when they got caught too....MAX tolerance is 358. Read again.MAX. It wasnt close and even Long didnt appeal the engine size only that he got it 3rd party and shouldnt be responsible
So? And? That kind of thing. You said NASCAR just picks on the little guy, I've proven you are wrong and you are even helping my argument.Funny that was JGR's excuse when they got caught too....
I never claimed that. All I said is they make empty threats. You're the one helping that argument in that both had illegal motors but one got away with it.So? And? That kind of thing. You said NASCAR just picks on the little guy, I've proven you are wrong and you are even helping my argument.
I've always thought it was the chicken for some reasonAnybody want to talk about how the TTR & TTX Ohlins shocks are nearly the same? Which one came first?

You said max is max tolerance, so beyond that is cheating. Somehow one form of cheating isn't really cheating?
Making stuff up again. Nobody "got away" with anything and the appeals process determines the final penalty. Both were wrong and both penalized.I never claimed that. All I said is they make empty threats. You're the one helping that argument in that both had illegal motors but one got away with it.

I gave up. Boring.I haven't been following the test much, but all I've seen are single car runs. Has anyone tried racing around each other yet?
How is 358.17 "not even close" to 358.00? You're acting like Carl brought a 426 to the track and tried to pull one over on them.MAX tolerance is 358. Read again.MAX. It wasnt close and even Long didnt appeal the engine size only that he got it 3rd party and shouldnt be responsible
It wasnt .01 .02 .03 .09 .11 .12 .14 .15 .16 it was .17. I dont care how incremental the measurement is its still incrementally more than 358.00 I'm not acting, he was illegal by any standard of measurement.. He might as well have brought a 426How is 358.17 "not even close" to 358.00? You're acting like Carl brought a 426 to the track and tried to pull one over on them.
Sticks in my mind it had worn out bores. .006" of an inch over spec on a couple holes. ZERO improvement in HP. Actually likely LESS HP than a good fresh 358. But let the outrage flow. How is 358.17 "not even close" to 358.00? You're acting like Carl brought a 426 to the track and tried to pull one over on them.
Doesnt matter its over MAX. No one is outraged at least not me.Sticks in my mind it had worn out bores. .006" of an inch over spec on a couple holes. ZERO improvement in HP. Actually likely LESS HP than a good fresh 358. But let the outrage flow.
The single out of focus camera sure makes it hard to follow. I just had it running on a side screen at work and would glance over occasionallyI gave up. Boring.
It sounds like a lot but that cubic inches not diameter. So that's not much on a diameter considering volume is V=pi*r^2*h. So they probably missed the bore by a couple thousandth. If the rule says 358 then that's the rule. In a machine shop if you miss something by 170 thou that's WAAAAAAY off, it ain't nowhere close. To visualize it's more than an 1/8". Is it going to make any difference? I don't know. But I do know in a modern machine shop if the boss man said don't go over 358 and you turned in something .17 off you'd get laughed out of there. Hell they'd probably laugh you out of a 19th century machine shop. There's really no legitimate excuse for it. And I know it's divided over 8 cylinders. Doesn't matter it's still sloppy work.

Still illegal but not grossly missed it like they were measuring with a plastic ruler

Not disagreeing on that. My point was its not like you missed it by 1/8 inchEven if it was "only 2 thou" that's still unacceptable and a tad sloppy.
Did you read the link I posted?Ok yeah but 1/8" *might* make a gain? Maybe? That didn't end up + .17 by honest accident...
Long said he purchased the engine, which came from an old Ganassi Racing Dodge, but it didn’t match the spec sheet he was given when he bought it. The crankshaft was not the matching one for the bore of the block, which put the engine over the limit.
Why would you read the article when you can simply jump to conclusions instead?Did you read the link I posted?
How does that not make any sense? The last sentence makes no sense.
Is there a link to the rest of the word salad?
