'21 Generation 7 Car news

First few pit stops I watched seems like teams have a concern of getting wheels tight. 3 car only did right sides, then brought what looked like a torque wrench over to check them. The 24 changed tires then came back around and jacked the car up to check the wheels.

Have to imagine you have to let the wrench hammer a little longer

I WAS FIRST!!!:owquitit:

I'm thinking reason the do the jack it up and wiggle test is because if the nut jams the wheel is noticeably loose. Not like 250 foot lbs instead of 600. LOOSE! Flopping around loose.

Here were top speeds from today. SHR had the 7-inch spoiler for part of the session and they had the top speeds.

I'd like to see the torque curve on these guns. My guess is they aren't letting them hammer long enough to build up torque

A caster under splitter with a set of aluminum discs to replace the wheels. Say an 18" "stick" that inserts into frame at 4 points. Car is fixed at frame 18" height. Engine/stub could be at same height. That way guys could safely roll under the car. I'm just thinking about how you do one of these in say 3-4 hours instead of 8.

Capital Race Cars build their dirt late models so you can buy body parts that fit. Complete nose assembly. Pull 8 bolts and knock it off. We used to have to bend them custom. Everything is waterjet cut. You guys CAN do this. If you use dry-break fittings the engine & radiator could be filled.
Because that subassembly is obviously as wide as the car itself, it's going to be a massive pain to get it loaded and unloaded onto the truck without knocking it into the inside walls of the trailer. Also yeah getting the frame mounting points lined up, plus the engine and transmission lined up at the same time, would not be as easy as you're making it out to be. What if the garage floor they're on isn't totally level?

I will never understand why NASCAR neutered these cars & they won't admit they were wrong. So they'll keep on insisting that the High DF/Low HP package is working when it's clearly not.

probably because earnings are up, ratings are up along with attendance :idunno: I'll never understand people who can't understand that.

Man some of you are easily defeated. This subassembly would be exactly same width at the car. Have any of you replaced and engine in a FWD car? It all goes out the bottom. Subframe with all suspension attached, engine & trans as an assembly with wiring on it.

Level floor? They don't work in Motel parking lots anymore.

Not at all. The system they have works well and has for years. Teams have a perfectly good backup car that can be race ready in minutes. If they wreck that one they can use one of their teammates cars who has had better luck.

I would like to see attendance, ratings data for Las Vegas, Texas, Kansas in particular. Las Vegas had a noticeable attendance decline in Fall 2021 versus Fall 2019.
