23XI statement on not signing Charter agreement

The original intent of the charters was to insure the car owners got something for their team if they decided to get out of the sport. They could sell the charter and get something. Before, you would see team owners like Bud Moore, Cale Yarborough, and others get out and get pennies on the dollar for their equipment and shop. The car owners, at that time, decided they needed some value for their assets.

Now, Jordan and others want to make it more like other pro sports where they can a franchise. The problem is the other sports formed a league, picked a commissioner to run things, and the commissioner was basically an employee of the owners. NASCAR isn't structured that way. It was formed and relied and people to field entries for their races. It's always been a one-way street. Which is why the newer owners think it needs to work in a different way. They're not wrong, especially since the entity that owns NASCAR also owns half the tracks they race on.

It's worked that way for over 75 years. I believe it is only one newer owner. The other has been in the series for some time. What owner is going to say hell no for a possible windfall that could mean millions more for not doing anything and it is at no cost to them. But one has to ask why didn't they all line up behind Jordan and the gang? I would imagine Nascar has already and will continue to get that messaged to the jury in the days to come.

I’ll bet more people know the names, Petty, Pearson, Gordon, Johnson, Busch, Harvick, etc. than they do France.
Nobody ever tuned in to watch Jim France. He inherited NASCAR and everything that comes from it.
I'll bet they never would have heard of them if it hadn't been for France. That's a fact.

The teams are paying into it, don't kid yourself. They pay for fuel and tires, which NASCAR gets a kickback from. They pay inspection fees. They have to buy licenses. They now have to buy parts from certain places.

If you want to compete in the Daytona 500, you're going to spend over a half million dollars when you factor in everything before you ever open up the back door of your hauler.
So what, everyone pays to the NFL right? btw, NASCAR Teams don't pay a dime for fuel

Teams get a combined $5 million per race, while NASCAR's getting over $30 million per weekend just from Fox, Nexstar, Amazon, WB Discovery and Versant. Most of that money goes back to the tracks which NASCAR owns most of. But the tracks also pay a massive ass sanctioning fee to secure those races. And again, NASCAR owns like half these tracks.

It's a giant finger to the teams. And not the index, pinky, ring, or thumb.
Where did you get those figures from?
